It looks like everyone got ther Hobao version. I looked at both the ofna and hobao one and the only difference I saw was the tires. Is that statment true? I was going to get the ofna one but if ultimatehobbies doesn't have it in stock by the time I have the money than I am just gonna order the hobao one.

Arct1k 07.18.2008 06:39 AM

??? Ofna / Hoboa - same thing - Hoboa is the manufacturer OFNA is the USA distributer.

EBAY is the place for a deal - they are still going for 399

BL_RV0 07.20.2008 10:21 AM

No updates yet, still waiting on a $300 payment to come in so I can finish this thing and the MBX4-RR.

Pedebeater 07.20.2008 03:05 PM

I am also waiting on money. Should have it ordered by the end of july.

BL_RV0 07.28.2008 12:43 PM

Been a while since I last updated, I bought a Align 600xl rewound with Neu windings for $105 shipped brand new for the truggy. The Hacker will go in the buggy on 4s. The motor was shipped on friday from wisconsin, so hopefully it'll arrive today. :yipi:

brushlessboy16 07.28.2008 12:56 PM

dont count on it, i was hoping the war head would be here to day (priority shipping) was shipped friday also ..

darn postal service :D

BL_RV0 07.28.2008 12:59 PM

Dang...

Pedebeater 07.28.2008 01:35 PM

Like I said, you should get it early-mid this week. I hope you like it.

BL_RV0 07.28.2008 01:36 PM

I will...

Finnster 07.28.2008 03:22 PM

Hope to see you get everything going. I think this is the longest build thread I've ever seen that still does not have a running truck by the end. lol

20K is def very good in the center. It ran really nice and not much ballooning in F. I think I have 7/20/3. I did put one step higher springs in the F as well.

I really like this truck. Turns on a freaking dime. I think it has a smaller turn radius than my CRT.5.

BL_RV0 07.28.2008 03:25 PM

I've been having an unruly amount of problems getting it working... Hopefully I can use my 10t pinion for a low speed test.

Arct1k 07.28.2008 03:59 PM

I dropped from 25 to 10k in teh centre and am preferring it - Still no significant ballooning..

BL_RV0 07.28.2008 04:14 PM

I hope the 600 shows up today.... I'll test it with the one hardened pinion I have- 10t. I'm going to pick up a 16t from Mike this week.

NIKER 07.29.2008 04:21 PM

Hi, veiw to my conversion. not finished but will soon be.

BL_RV0 07.29.2008 04:26 PM

Nice conversion. It has many of the same components that mine does.

THX, your conversion is too good. I use only tested parts...
Do you have a video of HYPER in action?

BL_RV0 07.29.2008 04:38 PM

Not yet. It still doesn't run. The motor should of arrived today but it didn't, also need to order a 16t pinion.

NIKER 07.29.2008 04:43 PM

Why 16T pinion, will not be too heavy a transfer?

BL_RV0 07.29.2008 05:00 PM

That makes speed around 40mph, optimal for brushless general bashing.

BL_RV0 07.31.2008 04:28 PM

I got the pinion ordered from the lhs. Will be in tomorrow. Gave the motor a test unloaded with a max of about 1/8 throttle. God, it sounds AWESOME! I relocated the MM to behind the motor, and wired up the bec. The way I mounted the bec is a but ghetto, just tie-wrapped it onto the esc power wires. Also, got the front brace mounted, finally. Here's a couple pics:

Looks good man. You will have to post a vid once you get it all done, I never did get to enjoy that sound of the motor. lol

BL_RV0 07.31.2008 04:38 PM

I'll try to make a "motor sound" video today if I can get a hold of the stepdad's camera.

brushlessboy16 07.31.2008 04:48 PM

nice! looks tooo plain without the side guards thoug :D

BL_RV0 07.31.2008 04:50 PM

Really? It made mounting the battery a whole lot easier, and the holes came in handy for tie-wrapping wires.

tc3_racer_001 07.31.2008 05:43 PM

u may find they were put there for a purpose, to keep stuff out! i was told (on the buggy) that if i didnt add them it would be terrible. and would have stuff all in the chassis.

BL_RV0 08.02.2008 02:01 AM

Ugh... the lhs ordered the wrong size pinion. They ordered a 12t when I asked for a 16t. They can have the 16t in by tuesday, but I was hoping to have it ready for this weekend. I made it VERY clear I wanted a 16t...
:oops::whip:

BL_RV0 08.05.2008 05:17 PM

And now, the update you've all been waiting for....
I drove the hyper st! Still got to program it, (no brakes) and realign the tires and such. Here's a couple pics. My it got dirty quickly!

Takedown 08.05.2008 06:08 PM

Glad to see that motor got some use. It was traded 3 times before it was even slapped in a car... What were the temps and how was the power/runtimes?

BL_RV0 08.05.2008 06:11 PM

My heat gun took a crap, I ran it only for about 15min because I had to pee really bad and had to run up to my house. Anyway, it was basically all 1/2 throttle short hill climbs, and a bit of full throttle wheelie attempts. Even with 5k CD oil, I could wheelie! I'd say temps were as follows; motor: 140, ESC: 150, batteries: 95...

brushlessboy16 08.05.2008 06:24 PM

i dont think you should run in THAT dusty of a condition withthe 600xl.. with the open vents and all, dust might not be good for it

BL_RV0 08.05.2008 06:27 PM

Good point, but because of the internal fan, doesn't that mean that air is blowing out of those holes, preventing crap from getting inside?

brushlessboy16 08.05.2008 06:29 PM

air has to get in from somewhere...

BL_RV0 08.05.2008 06:32 PM

Just tested it, air comes in from the front and blows out the rear and sides.

brushlessboy16 08.05.2008 06:33 PM

that means that all the dusty air goes through the can before it leave, not good lol

Atleast it has a fan...

BL_RV0 08.05.2008 10:59 PM

Yeah.

Im glad to see the motor finally made it into a car! Im also running a 16 tooth on my buggy, but i have a 3s and a much hotter wind. If you have nay problems with it let me know, ill take care of them. i have more of them for anyone else who wants one

Takedown 08.05.2008 11:06 PM

Yep, Ive gotta congratulate MTX for rewinding that motor because it obviously is doing great!

dust will not hurt the motor in any way, basically, if it can fit thourhg the holes, its too small to do damage. ive run mine on gravel, dirt, even mud with no issues. the 500L i have in my boat will even run fully submerged! just because it can take debris gtting in the motor doesnt mean you should let them though.

BL_RV0 08.05.2008 11:25 PM

500L? What's that?
