well mike.. what you think
"?

toby 02.27.2005 11:47 AM

i want the strongest parts possible though since i will be bashing and not racing tooooo much besides some of my buddies which i will jsut blow away.. do not sell outof the powerstrokes on me though.. i might not even make an order for like 2 months or maybe 3 moths which would suck but you have to do what you have to do right? weight is an issue cause i wanna fly but it is not tooooo big of an issue.. i am not sure what a stock truck weighs but i wanna keep it somewhere abround there.... so saving some weight any where rather you can do it through the chasis, suspension arms, it is all good but the main thing is strength on my part... also i need to pick out my servos and motor and speed sontroller cause i decided i will work for a couple weeks (even though i will work all sumemr) and dedicate the money to this truck... the good thing is we do not have any shelf queen trucks in here ( i do not think) would you be afraid to bash a 1000 or more dollar truck? i am incase i bend like an A ARM or something but i will stock some RPM stuff just incase cause iwill not be able to afford the parts after i break them but i have nevver heard of aluminum breaking... only bending which sucks also.... this will be like an ultimate basher/ racer hybrid and will be my first "KIT" truck. no one will have the EXACT same truck since i am not starting out with like an emaxx or anything which will be cool to buy all the parts and build them. so if you guys have opinions on rather or not i should buy all the parts or buy a truck, what chasis, or suspension let me know cause i will think about all of it and think twice but i do know i have been looking at G orilla maxx stuff for about a year now so it would be nice to finally get this done and be able to drive my truck like no tomorrow with a sweeeett brushless system that will rip and bodies car apart where i live.. my friend has an evader.. kill his truck... i am evil when i have speed on my side.. i think maybe 50 MPH with the option of being able to go faster if that is possible.. without spending over like 300 on motor and controller. batteries are going to be a 7 cell pack and going to get a charger and make the thing to charge two batteries at once. goign to buy the batteries already made cause i do not want to mess anything up on this truck like soldering cuase i h vae never done that either which would be helpful if someone would help me solder some how. this truck shall be the coolest truck where i am from being that we do not have a track and there is not very man drivers here maybe 30 at the most in my town. i cannot wait to start this project and for you guys to help me and guide me on the way. thank you all:D :D :D

people are calling me stupid and insane and crazy for spending welllll over 1000 dollars on a truck and then BASHING it. i am haveing 2nd thoughts on this. if i break a suspension arm i am screwed for money. then what am i suppoes to do? if i break the chasis or motor what am i suppose to do? i might go all RPM cause it is cheaper and life time warranty. i like this gorilla maxx stuff. then there is soooo many products the market. i have no idea what to do. i need some guidence and some words of advice (like what i have been getting) and some people telling me how good this stuff is so i do not decide against it.. i have no idea what to do.. AHHHHHHH:confused:

Sylvester 02.27.2005 02:17 PM

toby, listen man i think you should go with the g3 race suspension from gorillamaxx now that they have the more durable upper arms, it should last you and it comes with 4 upper arms , 4lower arms , 2 shock towers, and alot more stuff u i cant remeber. goto www.gorillamaxx.com and look around there for a bit , i did and i fell in love with the CF chasis and g3 suspension.

toby 02.27.2005 02:29 PM

i like there stuff.. i do not want the CF chasis i want the aluminum one. the suspension is wha i am not sure about or the bulks or anything

Sylvester 02.27.2005 02:32 PM

get the bulks from here, but if ur not sure aboiut the suspension than do some reaserch on them , than you might fall in love with them just like me.

toby 02.27.2005 02:34 PM

that is what i am thinking. i need something really strong. this stuff looks strong

Sylvester 02.27.2005 02:35 PM

trust me it is. i am getting bulk from here soon too. but right now i need to make some cash.

toby 02.27.2005 02:38 PM

i know what chasis, shocks, bulks, motor (not controller though) i think, batteries, i need radio equipment, suspension, some other stuff too

Sylvester 02.27.2005 02:39 PM

get gp3300's , i have them they are great , as for suspension ask around and i think you know what suspension i think is good, as for radio equippment im not so sure...

toby 02.27.2005 02:42 PM

wheels and tires? i need everything. making a complete truck with nothing to start with. maybe i will order some parts now and some when i sell my tmaxx

Sylvester 02.27.2005 02:44 PM

wheels and tires, get the aluminum wheels that is listed on rc-monster.com for 100$ , they look awsome, i am ordering them after i get my other order from mike, tires, hmmmmmm, i will look around for some good tires, if i like them you might like them too.

toby 02.27.2005 02:45 PM

i am thinking of like 40 series mashers form proline. they are sick

Sylvester 02.27.2005 02:46 PM

can you give me the website?

toby 02.27.2005 02:48 PM

http://www.pro-lineracing.com/proline.html take a look on that site they got bodies and everything

Sylvester 02.27.2005 02:49 PM

ok ill look around , i might find what i need .

Sylvester 02.27.2005 02:50 PM

well i found a body that i want, rims and tires so far.

toby 02.27.2005 02:51 PM

they are not aluminum though

Sylvester 02.27.2005 02:53 PM

thats the thing i was about to say, no rims from there. :(

toby 02.27.2005 02:55 PM

Sylvester 02.27.2005 02:56 PM

toby 02.27.2005 02:56 PM

i am getting powerstroke ones. way more pimpin in my opinion. but i need help picking everything else

Sylvester 02.27.2005 02:58 PM

powerstroke looks cool, i just like the silver and the price for powerstrokes are pretty high for me, the shocks that i bought , just look beautiful to me

toby 02.27.2005 02:59 PM

they do look nice. but what do i need to make a good solid basher?>

Sylvester 02.27.2005 02:59 PM

Oh yeh and post the things you need help with.

Sylvester 02.27.2005 03:00 PM

well the powerstrokes to me dont look very durable, the ones i bought are aluminum so i assume that they are durable for jumping and bashing just like described.

ryanvm777 02.27.2005 03:24 PM

Toby, dont worry about bashing a $1000 truck. The hole point of spending that much money is so you can bash it. When you spend that much money you are able to bash with less problems and less parts breaking. I have about $2000 into my truck and I bash the heck out of it. Sand, dirt, street, track, you name it Ive crashed it. Bashing and speed is why I have spent the money. When you bash a stock emaxx or other truck in the long run you would probaly end up spending the same amount of money on your truck. Some people rather spend money on a cheap part that breacks multiple times. Remember you dont need to figure out your hole truck right now. You only need to figure out what you need for the amount of money you are going to spend. In other words if you have $1500 then figure out what you are going to get for #1500. If you have $500 than figure out what you need for $500. Dont drive rack your brain trying to figure out your hole truck at once, just one step at a time.

Sylvester 02.27.2005 03:27 PM

ryan is right, and 1 more thing added to that is once you spent all that money you will probably be thinking youve wasted money and time, well it all pays off with having some fun! ryan what do you have on your maxx ? post soon. thnx

ryanvm777 02.27.2005 03:33 PM

old pic

Sylvester 02.27.2005 03:35 PM

thats 1 great looking truck, i also just recently purchased those shocks, are they good, any assemble tips? thanks

toby 02.27.2005 03:41 PM

that thing is fIN crazy. i am not starting out with another truck so it will be from scratch. i might buy a cheap emaxx roller to take some stuff off of but i doubt it. i will have about 1000-1500 to spend which should basically build me a new truck. i am just waiting for MIKE to respond cause he is suppose to tlel me everything i need

ryanvm777 02.27.2005 03:43 PM

Its easy just take one of each and you will be fine. LOL

Sylvester 02.27.2005 03:43 PM

hey toby, thats a good idea to start from scratch , mike should respond soon, he replies quickly to questions.

toby 02.27.2005 03:55 PM

i know he does. ya starting from scratch you need to buy all the parts at once (unless you can wait of course) but you save a good 300+ US dollars

Sylvester 02.27.2005 03:58 PM

thats true, as for me it was worth buying a stock emaxx at first, i got to learn hot to drive REALLY well, i learned alot of stuff and i know where everything goes, you might have a little troubles putting things together.

toby 02.27.2005 03:59 PM

if i do i will just ask Mike or someone on this board or another and they will help me.

Sylvester 02.27.2005 04:09 PM

good point, but its always good to know what you drive, if something breaks, you fix it :)

toby 02.27.2005 05:37 PM

i know. i have been in this for a year and also everything comes with instructuons. i do not wanna spend the extra money on a emaxx and build a toby maxx

Sylvester 02.27.2005 05:38 PM

toby-maxx? LOL, well my truck is called a HVG-Maxx, HV for hv-maxx brushless motor system and G for gorilla maxx.

toby 02.27.2005 05:41 PM

hmm.. you getting the novak system? i am going to get something form mike
