I'm cloer to this server:
http://www.speedtest.net/result/833392318.png But this one has a faster speed almost every time I test: http://www.speedtest.net/result/833393302.png |
Bad Karma, it's the latency (PING) that makes the difference. Data transfers faster on a lower latency line, and since the one has a lower latency than the other, it results in faster speeds, even though the server is farther away.

My slow DSL speeds
But not to bad for only $19.95 mo. no cap and no shared bandwidth as i had with cable the speeds were "ok" on cable untill school let out every day then the speeds would start to drop and were not constant. my wifi speeds and consistent throwout the day or nite. http://www.frontiernet.net/~radioman193193/speed1_1.jpg http://www.frontiernet.net/~radioman193193/speed2_2.jpg This link will let you see how stable your speeds are unlike the 30 second Burst tests it is like 3 or 4 minutes to complete http://speedtest.vudu.com/cdn1/ http://www.frontiernet.net/~radioman193193/vud.jpg I cant wait for ADSL2+ 24 Megabits there working on it here thay have alot of the hardware in place in the city and have just started to rebuild the local DSLAM I have been helping them alot this week with it. one side of it is in place and with the fiber to it it can deliver and tested @100Megabits on eatch port from Dansville to Rochester but the FCC would NEVER let that happen on a phone line. LOL so it looks like Fiber is going in from the DSLAM to the subscribers next. That will be SWEET 100Megabits.... fiber from the DSLAM to the modem and looks like ill still only pay my $19.95Mo for 2 years after words. I cant wait for it to all be in place ! 100% complete in 1year and 6 months from now :great: |

It's $125 a month including 3 phone/fax lines and the "premium" HD cable package with a multi-room DVR box and 2 other boxes. The price was fixed for 2 years.
