same here hopefully the weekend of the get-together doesn't conflict with my family vacation i am having a hard time waiting :026: i cant wait to meet all of you.

Batfish 02.04.2006 08:18 PM

I'm sure looking forward to it :)

Bashers and racers alike will have things to look forward to. Aside from the actual races on the track, we expect to have events like speed runs and long jumps (things bashers like to do :) ). We're sure to have a "Best of Show" competition, too - so make sure those vehicles are buffed up nicely - we'll make sure we take the glamour shots before they get dirty :003:

We're getting closer to a time and place (still likely to be Barnstormers) and I'll make sure everyone is updated here as soon as we know.

If anyone has ideas for events, make sure you post them here so we can plan out the agenda!

crazyjr 02.04.2006 08:41 PM

Boss, same here

Batfish, I'd still like to see a freestyle. Not bugging, just reminding

Yep - when I last talked to Mike, he also mentioned a freestyle event. What would it consist of if you were to define it, crazyjr?

Thank you for your input :003:

squeeforever 02.04.2006 10:31 PM

ever thought of a tug-o-war? that would be a site. especially with brushless powered beast'. also, what about holeshot awards? how about high-tech awards? just some thoughts....

crazyjr 02.04.2006 11:57 PM

Batfish. I think it would be like the real monster truck freestyle, practically anything goes, at least a 3minute time limit, preferably till you had a failure or batteries dumped, but the number of entries might limit that. Got to have a few kickers and one large kicker jump(maybe borrowed from the long jump)

Squee. Good idea how about Teams of two, double the trucks double the smoke. I know who my partner would be, right Coolhand

coolhand would probably win that with his 2250

Sneeck 02.05.2006 09:05 AM

Pulling contest. Like they did on the x-game's.

boss 302 02.05.2006 09:30 AM

Mike would have to bring a lot of drivetrain parts if we had a pulling contest. there would be lots of broken diffs and tranny's maybe a motor or two

Sneeck 02.05.2006 09:53 AM

Like there will be no damage from long jumping?

crazyjr 02.05.2006 01:03 PM

or racing?

Batfish 02.05.2006 01:17 PM

Instead of a tug-of-war, I could see a tractor pull-type of event. That may be worth looking into.

but there would be a lot of suspension damage from long jumping and racing along with freestyle
i cant wait

squeeforever 02.05.2006 02:54 PM

joe, there are actually sleds on ebay on occation. a used one is probably the way to go since they are kinda expensive. heres a couple of links to some on ebay: tamiya sled and heres another

The first one is not very good. I seen a dually tired clod with stock motors pull it around a track with it bending under the weight it was carrying. I'm not sure how much was on it but it wasn't much. The second looks heavy duty enough. Thats a good idea Batfish

edit 1: I was looking at the tamiya pull sled and its not a tamiya, its an Aristocraft I have one of their buggies and the wheels are the same

coolhandcountry 02.06.2006 02:03 PM

The 2250 would not be a good tug of war machine. It has a center diff and is geared rather hi. I may something here for that though. ;)
I don't know about the free style competion. I may see about that. I got a few places to practice. I was getting some over the weekend.

couldnt you put a spool in the center diff and gear it as low as you possibly can. it would likely have to much torque though

Sneeck 02.06.2006 04:25 PM

You can never have to much torque.

There are spool's for sale.

that is true most of the time but putting a 22 series in an 18t(if you could get it to fit) would have to much torque

Dafni 02.06.2006 04:55 PM

How about a beer-crate pulling contest? Instead of shaft-twisting tug-o-wars!?

boss 302 02.06.2006 05:43 PM

my neighbor works for a beer distributer and gets all the free beer he can get but i am not legally allowed to posses it since i am only 14 and drinking age is 21 but my dad would be allowed to bring it or maybe i could get my neighbor to go and he could call it a "buisness trip" or "advertising opportunity"(since he is a salesman).

Now thats some creative thinking....

crazyjr 02.06.2006 06:05 PM

Yeah, how many beers can you haul with no wheels

coolhandcountry 02.06.2006 07:34 PM

To much torque. MMMMM I didn't know that was possible. I was thinking of a little 3060 or something in that nature. A nice 3080 may be better though. It be a little more torque. pack about 40 cells on it and bam. it is a pulling machine. :D

and a tranny eating machine or diff eating machine.

crazyjr 02.12.2006 01:07 PM

Any new news on the get-together

Serum 02.12.2006 01:20 PM

Talking about it with Daniel, we still haven't decided if we go, it's about 1300 dollars per person.

Sneeck 02.12.2006 01:22 PM

I'm in if you go Rene. Don't wanna mis out on this.

coolhandcountry 02.12.2006 02:42 PM

Do we need to start a european buddy bly over fund? YEs that is a few bucks just to fly over and stay for alittle bit. But the fun and excitement you will miss out on.

boss 302 02.16.2006 07:30 PM

any update on the date the get-together is going to be on????

HotnCold 02.16.2006 07:43 PM

Possible answer tomorrow - we are trying to firm the date tomorrow night - Hopefully we will have a date this week...

Papa 02.16.2006 07:48 PM

Hmm... maybe a fund raiser is in order... a raffle for a brushless system may work. Sell tickets for like $10.00 I'd by a few... with the proceeds going to help ought a few from overseas.

HotnCold 02.16.2006 08:13 PM

Thats a good idea - On the phone with mike as we speak - well see about it- maybe - who knows

coolhandcountry 02.16.2006 08:26 PM

I don't really need a brushless system. I would be welling to help out. Hey maybe it would be better to have like rc monster money. If you win the raffle you get like 300 bucks or so.

sounds good to me

Papa 02.16.2006 08:49 PM

guys its not about what you get its about what you give... keep in mind the nobble cause here fella's

coolhandcountry 02.16.2006 08:56 PM

I am papa don't get me wrong. I was just pointing out. Some people may do it so they can get suspension instead. or a new chassis. That would sure get a g2r chassis. ;)
