Serum 05.15.2007 01:47 AM

Arh! this SUCKS leroy!!

smoking an entire setup.. :(

You are not using the mechanical brakes, right? is there a possibility that you put them on? I know a nice and cheap esc in case you can use a mechanical brake.

jhautz 05.15.2007 02:49 AM

Do tell Serum.... You have my interest.:024:

starscream 05.15.2007 03:38 AM

Sorry to hear about the 36120.

I've run 8S so far with the CC HV110 and pistal adapter. There is a slight glitch with the throttle as the throttle seems to get stuck slightly forward. Other than that, the HV has been working well with mechanical brakes. No smoke yet and I'm hoping to keep it that way.

Gustav 05.15.2007 05:07 AM

Got a link to this pistol adapter thingy?

coolhandcountry 05.15.2007 08:00 AM

Yeah it sucks. The esc has never been right since day one.
Bk is trying to put it off as a operator error.
Nope no mechincal brakes.
I think I will put the schulze on it for now. Since it does work. :D
Be limited to only 6s and 1950 8t.

Anyone for toast? Its a shame when these things happen; lots of hassle getting it mended/replaced, or having to fork out for new gear. I would say its by far the most worrying factor, especially when some of this stuff is bad out of the box, yet the manufacturer tries to blame you- unless its Quark that is, they seem like a great company for warranty stuff.

coolhandcountry 05.15.2007 09:38 PM

Yeah it is. Especially when the manfacturer is trying to say you doing something
wrong to cause problem. I have sent it back to them once and they said
it was ok. Cause of that it not broke we not fix attitude. I am going to
remove all bk stuff from my cars. I won't buy no more bk either.
I will be happy to give my money to quark mm or others.

zeropointbug 05.15.2007 09:59 PM

Yeah, MM or a Quark all the way, although i've never ran a MM personally, but from what I hear. :027:

captain harlock 05.16.2007 05:26 AM

You should wait until Castle Creations release the HV Monster Max( if they ever thought about it)>>>

Dagger Thrasher 05.16.2007 12:36 PM

Man, that really sucks! So sorry to hear about that Coolhand.:002: Maybe it was actually the motor...maybe one of the winds shorted out? Who knows.

Captain, one of the Castle reps (Patrick something?...) did ask on the RC Groups forums about whether people would buy a HV MMM, and the response was generally "yes"...so I reckon they're definitely thinking about it. He did say it'd be pretty expensive though.

captain harlock 05.16.2007 03:38 PM

I'm ready to put $450 if it's gonna happen, even 500. It does not matter so long as it is going to bring what it is supposed to.

I have had the problem with this esc since i got it. It has even been back
to bk to get repaired. They said it was ok and updated the software.
I have been in a debate in emails with them over the esc not working like it
should. They trying to put it off on user error. The controler popped smoked.
It was sending constant electric thru the motor and smoked the motor.
May as well say about 800 bucks poof up in smoke.
All I got to say is Thanks BK!!!:036:

zeropointbug 05.17.2007 08:14 PM

esc smoked, smoked the motor, which... did the batteries take a beating from the short?

coolhandcountry 05.17.2007 08:43 PM

They got warmer than ussual. I don't know if done damage. I am hoping not.
If so. I am out more money.

BrianG 05.17.2007 08:44 PM

Yikes CHC! That's an expensive display of smoke! BK should provide an insurance policy for their controllers me thinks...

jhautz 05.17.2007 11:05 PM

I say Mike should stop selling BK until they make this right for you!!!

Oh... wait.... He did that already.

Well, they did the same to me with my 12020. I contacted the better business bureau after several emails, they finally said they would replace it, still have not seen teh esc yet though. This was last month.

suicideneil 05.18.2007 10:33 AM

BK = Bloody Kon-artists. Its not good, not good at all when you spend all your money with one company, expecting them to help you out if something unexpected happens, only for them to say "your fault".

neweuser 05.18.2007 10:44 AM

I agree, the sad thing is, not all their product is "bad" or whatever, and they have been around for some time, so you would think one could get SOME customer service after spending 800.00!!!!

Procharged5.0 05.18.2007 12:18 PM

That's just not right! Hope BK does something stand-up to take care of you.

GriffinRU 05.18.2007 02:00 PM

Leroy, sorry to hear that. I can take a look on your second controller :) maybe I can put smoke back...
And what happen with motor?

aqwut 05.21.2007 10:08 AM

That Really sucks dude... you're out more then me when my 2280 toasted...

From what I seen Artur. The esc got stuck on one phase. It sent all the volts and amps thru one phase of motor. It cooked the windings and solder off motor. It had a serious melt down. The epoxy melted and stuck to rotor in motor. I had to use pliers to even get the rotor to spin. It burnt a few in pieces. :002: The motor let off more smoke than esc did. I haven't heard nothing from BK. To me BK=Big Krap now. It is still same esc that I sent to them. They updated the software and said nothing was wrong. It works much better cool than hot. As it got warmer it got worse and worse.

I would like for them to give me a good esc. That is all I ask. Then I can sell it on ebay. :D

neweuser 05.23.2007 10:34 AM

Sorry to hear your issues CHC. Keep at BK even if you need to call them. It took me awhile until they finally responded.

Can you take a picture of LEHNER iron core?

coolhandcountry 06.03.2007 11:28 AM

I have junked the motor. I had to use pliers to get rotor out of case.
I got rotor still. :D I may as well have something for my 300 bucks.

You can use magnet on the fridge, I bet it is much stronger then Novak's you used to have on it :)
I just recently ripped apart Feigao can and now it is clear why their specs are so broad and efficiency sucks, so I thought it would be nice to take a look on Lehner core while we have seen neumotors core from their website.

coolhandcountry 06.03.2007 01:37 PM

I use them for a nice screw holders.
Yeah it is pretty strong. I got a pic on here some where the inside of a
lehner motor. The wires are alot straighter in the can. Don't have the
S configuration like in the nemisis or feigaos.

coolhandcountry 11.06.2009 03:35 PM

This truck is now part of an on going project truck.
More to come at later date.
