Just read that! April 2nd guys! Man the wait must be killing some people! :)

glassdoctor 03.15.2007 10:39 AM

Burn it down!!! Anyone close that has a gas can??? :D

BrianG 03.15.2007 10:49 AM

Lol, I still had the page up from when I checked earlier this morning and just refreshed and they changed it to 4/2. Wow, you would've thought they would've known they were delayed before a few hours ago. :032:

Delays on top of delays seems to be a recurring theme in the R/C world. They must think it makes people anxious and excited with the anticipation, but for me, it just destroys that companies' credibility.

I'm with you on that. I think the only company that is pretty good at releasing products shortly after introduction is Traxxas. Their XL-5 vehicles were out within a month of being introduced on their website.

glassdoctor 03.15.2007 11:10 AM

The least they could have done is show some pics etc of what they DO have done even if ti's not immediately available... hmmmm

Mr.lst 03.15.2007 11:24 AM

I say again that sucks! I agree with BrianG credabilty is at a all time low!

Mr.lst 03.15.2007 11:27 AM

:mad:1 :mad:1 :mad:1 they should have known before today that things weren't ready!:mad:1 :mad:1 :mad:1

6606j 03.15.2007 11:39 AM

Oh give em a break, there are always delays in production sometimes stuff happens, that are just out of their control, and believe it or not i will still order, because I trust the company to do what it does best, deliver a race quality chassis, as far as not having the website updated well, he really doesn't have to tell you anything does he? but instead they gave a detailed rundown on what is going to be offered.

I still like the part of the prices have not been set, but they will be,...lol

It's like in the movie the mask with jim carrey where he gets an estimate on the damage to his honda civic, and he comments that there is no price on the quote and the mechanics tell him not to worry, there will be,...lol

I can give him a break for not having the new stuff ready. However, to have completely stopped production on the old generation products while he was developing the new stuff leaves a gaping hole in availability of GMaxx products. What if someone has been wanting a single speed conversion for the past 3 months while it was unavailable? And now to find out the only change is that comes with different screws and still won't be available for nearly a month? What kind of crap is that? IMO, that's just poor business practice.

glassdoctor 03.15.2007 12:09 PM

I can cut them some slack.. they do make great stuff right? I don't really care, as I have never used their products and have no plans to buy anything.

I'm just having fun here... but it is disappointing to see them dangle the carrot only to yank it away at the last second. It's just bad business as someone stated... poor decision.

Reminds me of Charlie Brown and Lucy? :D

suicideneil 03.15.2007 12:22 PM

Hmm..... *enters kill mode* That is very dissapointing, though I had a funny feeling something like this would happen when I got home and switched on the PC. As for bad business practice- not really, but it is nieve (sp) to set such a short release date for new products, with out leaving room for any problems that might crop up; I would rather have heard them say "15th April", then suprise us by reopening sooner on the 2nd. 'Tis a pain in the anus but I guess we'll just have to wait another fortnight.

Ok, so closer to 3 weeks than a month, but it's still more than 2 weeks. It still doesn't account for the fact that their existing products have been unavailable for several months now. That's the part that's absurd. You didn't see companies like Team Associated discontinue the TC3 when they announced the TC4, did you? Basically, we're going on probably 2+ months where GMaxx products have been completely unavailable.

That is the best way of putting it/ looking at it- they could have kept producing the older stuff until just before the new stuff came out, then sold what was left on ebay or something to get rid of it. At least that way if people needed spares they wouldnt have been left high&dry. *groans*

Mr.lst 03.15.2007 03:02 PM

It was a poor business decision lead everyone on while you know that you can't produce the goods! it sounds like dating or something doesn't it?

What car was that? ;) :005:

sjcrss 03.15.2007 05:46 PM

it would be nice to atleast see some pics...but I guess i can wait.....by the looks of the list.....not much im gonna need, considering I just got my gmaxx chassis and it actually has less than 2 runs on it...due to the weather...

jnev 03.15.2007 05:58 PM

Really too bad... but in a way, I kind of expected that, but I didn't want to admit it. It seems this happens to all major companies unfortunately. I think they should have just not realeased a date, or atleast get a really conservative one, that they know they can do.

GorillaMaxx360 03.15.2007 06:20 PM

i was disipointed greatly too

squeeforever 03.15.2007 09:03 PM

I know...I had to use my f'in PSP to view it in class so I could check, only to find that! It takes FOREVER to get to something on the internet with a PSP. It must have taken me 15 minutes just to find out that they still haven't got the products up...

sjcrss 03.15.2007 09:06 PM

wow...i just use my laptop in class...and it takes seconds....that really sucks squee

squeeforever 03.15.2007 09:21 PM

Well my Chemistry teacher is a b!tch so I'm sure she shouldn't like a laptop to much. The PSP I can hide. :p The main reason it takes so long is becauseof all the plugins Gorillamaxx's site has, but also because the PSP doesn't get that great of reception from a far distance as well as the fact that they don't have much memory. Unfortunately it takes a while to load...

BP-Revo 03.15.2007 09:50 PM

The new G3R chassis has a ESC mount plate above the rear shocks, and a new design for the plates to clear the shocks. I'm mostly interested in this mount, but if it requires new lower plates (which I have a feeling it does) I will just get Mike's mount. I may just get Mike's mount anyway to have the weight of the ESC counteract that of the motor. We'll see...

squeeforever 03.15.2007 10:55 PM

I know the bottom plate is different, but I'm not sure if its gonna be extended, or what, so you might be ok. You should be able to upgrade your current chassis though...

captain harlock 03.16.2007 03:04 AM

Hey, squee, do you use your PSP to play video games, too?

There isn't a large selection to choose from, you know.

Mr.lst 03.16.2007 04:24 AM

it depends on what you like there are alot of games and movies for the psp.

jocktheglide 03.16.2007 09:50 AM

they should sell the old stuff to us poster here specifically at a discount...llike 40% ....hey dont hurt to try.

+1, great idea!

suicideneil 03.16.2007 02:58 PM

That would be very nice- I am a little concerned about how the new A-arms will look mainly; I wanted the G3 suspension because the A-arms where so nice. If the new ones are ugly then I could be in trouble trying to find something I like the appearence of. So its 16 days and counting I think....

Yea, I have a handful of games and a few movies. I just got rid of about half of them though since I didn't like to watch/play them. One of the main reasons I got the PSP is because of the MP3/MP4 player.

sjcrss 03.16.2007 04:35 PM

sorry to here about your teach squee....one of the joys of using a laptop for notes....is i can hook up to internet & surf & type notes as well....just aske newe...i talk to him all the time in class....that was when i had day classes

Nick 03.18.2007 04:04 PM

I was expecting more than just updated products. The design doesn't need improving on though, so I'm glad to see thicker plates on the Gorilla chassis - at last!

Mike.L 03.18.2007 05:13 PM

the chassis is the same designe? just thicker?

BP-Revo 03.18.2007 05:57 PM

I beleive the X-Braces hae a slightly modified design for more strength.
