What's bigger a muggy or an Lst?

suicideneil 08.09.2008 06:50 PM

I believe they are the same size. The muggy uses that flat-pan chassis, where as the lst uses that horrid looking double-deck design. Size is the same though I think- you could always look up the dimensions on the LOSI website to be certain.

Wheelbase is the same on both, but the LST weighs a bit more.

The Muggy looks better too, just a meaner look to the truck in my opinion.

I agree it looks killer kinda like a truggy on steroids! I wonder what an xtm mammoth would be like converted?

It will wheelie sometimes, if it gets enough traction. I am not into wheelies, I only run 30k fluid in the center diff, a little heavier fluid and it will wheelie all the time. Speed is 40 to 45 mph, check the vids earlier in this thread.

I have become interested in doing a muggy now, but i have a few questions. I heard it needs a stiffer chassis, what kind of chassis is it and where can i buy one from? And did the lst2 size bodies just fit right on?

Some of the guys have got by with the stock chassis, but it may bend in a hard bashing session. Run it until it gets bent, or get a roller with the losi upgrade chassis already (like I did). The losi hard anodized upgrade chassis would be a good choice and I use an innovative rc chassis (thicker but more expensive).I used an LST2 body, (the cadillac) but the mounting holes are different than the LST2. The current body is a revo body (j-concepts tango).

I have a question... Do you know if the RCM muggy mount will fit a 1521? I thought the 1515 and 1521 would take the same motor screws, but they didn't and last night I was going to mount my 1521 in my 8ight ( for the ease of it) but the screws were to big and would fit through the motor mount.. I plan on getting a muggy soon and put the 1521 in it... so I was wondering if you knew... Since you already have the Cadillac of bashers that I am jealous of!

I had to open the mount in my BPP truggy. My truggy doesn't use the RCM mount. I think you might have to get the Dremel out for a workout . You can also talk to Mike to see if he can modify the mount for you.

But if i get a new 3.3/lst size body that has not had holes put in it yet, would it fit properly everywhere else.

yep, just mark the holes where ya want them. I did have to do a little extra trimming in front of the front wheel wells on both bodies, the big shocks would catch the body on full compression, I would guess that the LST2 would require the same, not a big deal there.
