Very, very clean layout. And amazing work on the buggy! :yes: So... how does the buggy run? I am assuming from how clean it is, you just tested it inside, but please give us a full report on how it runs outside. :yes:

Yea I am interested in how you like driving it since like me you have been playing mostly with Monster trucks. It will be interesting to see how you feel about the differences between the two animals. Nice work as usual Shaun, and now it is time to h ave a little fun until you start your next project. Your like me though, the build is just too much for. Have a good one TDC.

Can't wait to see what it is capable of! And nice job of fitting stuff onto that chassis, since it is so damn narrow.

Because it was about 9:30 pm when I ran around the house and in the front street for 5 minutes.. It will get dirty, starched and bagged-up.. :yes:

Thanks MetalMan… It was a struggle to get it all as close to the center as possible, luckily I succeeded and was able to install the stock body without any shimming required.

Your build is looking outstanding!!. I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts on it’s durability and etc..

Hey there Shaun it looks like you are finally having some fun with your toys. I look forward to that day as well. I have a question for ya. Now that you have gotten a chance to play with a couple of the MGM ESC's how do you like them overall? From everything that I have seen and read they are at the top of the food chain for performance and dependability once you get them setup correctly. Anyway I was just curious as to your opinion. Thank you Shaun.

Yes I did finally have some time to play and I had a great time!..

I'm really liking the MGM controllers, I’ve got two of them now the first one I bought brand new for like $365 it didn’t work (rrrrrrrrrr) sent it back to the manufacture and three weeks later it cam back working like a champ, I’ve had at least 20 runs on my GEVO with it and it runs great and has no heat issues at all. The second one is installed on my 808, it was a team member purchase and for $235 and it running great in my 808 no heat issues experienced all day today.. I'm going to be needing a another controller for my XB8TQ and I'm just waiting for another family member to have a summer sale and I’ll pick up my third one.. Like all controllers they have there plusses and minuses but thus far for reliability and no heat concerns they’ve both been worth their weight in gold and I would recommend them to anyone.. The initial programming is HELL, but once it set you are good to GO.. But it does heart! Dropping 2+ for a used or almost 4 for a new controller, but as stated before!, you get what you pay for in the hobby!... So far I can absolutely agree with that statement 1000%..

Today at the track!..

Well I took off and visited our new indoor dirt tack this afternoon with my GEVO and my 808, 3 lipo’s and two radios, that’s it!.. I get to the track 10 minutes away from my house (not bad) and I get suckered in for a bronze membership, but I got in today for free so (what the hell) I joined. Nice place, clean, bright, great work stations with outlets, the facility also had a fulltime onsite hobby store and a snack bar for the basic junk food, big clean restrooms, etc. Luckily I got there just 5 minutes after they opened the door so I could embarrass myself in the private.

I learned a few things today gentlemen!.

Bad news:
I really need to learn how to drive on a track!!! I suck!! :yes:

The good news is I cant go anywhere but up!. :yipi: It got so bad the owner came over introduced himself, verified that I’ve never been at a track (daa…) and asked if he could drive my buggy and proceeded to rip! up the track, jumped all doubles and a huge table top and another jump (12’h x 20’l) track time 21sec (bastard!) :grrrrrr: he looked at me and proceeded to give my a few pointers, :sarcastic: apparently I was hurting his track??? We both laughed!..:mdr: (I sucked so bad) they were actually worried about the damage / chunks I was tacking out of the track on my landings that they came over and help me!. The entire time I'm noise diving my buggy into the face on the following jumps (refuse to roll over them!) my timing and speed were just a little off and I did end up in the wrong lane quite a few times and I ended up jumped it off the track a few times getting it caught in the safety netting, (both trucks) :gasp: it was kind of funny to see the expression on the people faces outside watching in as it’s coming straight at them etc.. :angel: But the beside the point!..

P.S.
I also learned that my GEVO drives over most 12- 15th scale buggies like they are speed bumps (happen 3 times) and it’s real hard for them to pass or bump me around!.. (hhhhaaaaa) :intello:

Moving on.
So after two hours of beating the “holly crap” out of both of my trucks, I was finally able to gaining enough skill to at least make it around in my lane in under 42!!. (Who’s the man!) Sure the average time is 28 sec, but my first few times I think it took me (87,92,84). OOOoo reality hearts!.. :lol:

I also learned that my 808 can take a monsteris beating!! :party: (Endowing, cart wheeling, flipping, etc) you name it this buggy did it all in stride, ran like a champ and was wiser for it.:)

I got home and it looks good!, everything is where it should be. All and all it was a fun day out at the track..

That 808 is so sexy. Nice body too. You have done an awesome job at converting it. I wonder why xray doesn't have a factory conversion.

Is this the OCRC track you speak of? Glad to hear you are enjoying the buggy. We all told you 1/8 buggies were tough. :yes: Was it tough to drive the Revo on the track and stay in the lanes? I would think it is pretty big for a track that size. I will be at the track this Saturday most likely while visiting my grandparents which is the reason for all the questions.

Once again, great conversion! Really enjoyed watching the build the whole way through. :yes: Something is making me want to build a 1/8 buggy now... :whistle: Its a shame I sold my old one...
