Yes, that is the chassis most on this board are running (some in CF). There is no such thing as a forward only conversion on an electric vehicle (except the speed control setting),. The motor is also the brakes, so a forward only transmission would not work (unless you added mechanical brakes, which would add weight). The stock e-maxx tranny is pretty strong, but the UE idler gears are needed once you go with a nice brushless powerplant. The ideal set-up will of course depend on your cell count and driving style, but the 9918 Warrior (http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...warrior&cat=21) and one of the Feigao "L" motors (http://www.rc-monster.com/products.php?cat=20&pg=2) seem to be the popular choice for price and power reasons!

If you want to loose some weight you could lock the transmission into first or second gear and remove th shifter servo and unneeded gears.

The 9L is a popular choice. It can take up to 15 or 16 cells, and runs well on 12 cells as well. It has a nice runtime and plenty of power, along with the ability to take a wide range of cell counts.

do you guys ship to canada? i am located in ontario... i hope SO.. can the stock chasis hold 7 cells? also which Gmaxx Chasis is the strongest and the heaviest for bashing? if there is one that is complete with straps and sides for batteries and everything would be great..... .. i think i will buy the truck and batteries and charger and chasis and not wheels and tires yet.. if i am going to go BL do i need to get that extended chasis?

Both versions can stand some bashing. Personally I would go with aluminum. The stock chassis can fit 7 cells (look at traxxas website on how to). The extended chassis helps with the BL power and helps with handling.

okay.. the carbon fibre is cool but aren't they more for weight and not strength?
