Personally, the biggest advantage with the MMPro is the 6s capability. I like having a "1s" voltage headroom (for more leeway with braking spikes), so I would run 5s on a lower kv motor. Still gear conservatively and set the MMPro options to be gentle.

I agree with BrianG - a good quality 5s pack should allow the MMP to efficiently and safely provide good power. Time will tell how well it handles 1/8 buggies in the real world, but I tend to believe it should handle 'reasonably sane' 1/8 buggy duty rather well(no doubt there are people that will quickly find a way to kill it). :)

People do run the regular MM in buggies (and the MMPro is pretty similar to the MM in current-handling), so 4s should work fine, but it will get warm. 5s on low kv is the way to go.

Or, if you want to use mechanical brakes, run the full 6s and an even lower kv motor (~1300-1500). If you want to retain motor brakes and run 6s, I would solder on an extra TVS/capacitor module to the power wires.

For 6s usage, 35v low-ESR caps (you can tell by the 105*C rating). Actual capacitance varies. If I'm gonna add caps, I like to at least double what is currently on there. IIRC, the MMPro has 3x220uF caps (660uF total), so anything around that would work. You could get one cap or 2-3 smaller ones - doesn't matter (although I personally prefer mutiple smaller ones for better heat dissipation and transient response).

The TVS should be similar/same to what Castle puts on the MMM. Can't remember off the top of my head the exact part number though.

And if you decide to run low turn motors buy two or three of the Novak ones, if you can't build your own.

Just because it has a fan, doesn't necessarily mean it can't handle 6s and electrical brakes ;)

Ok. I have heard of people getting these in already. So, does anyone have any info on the following usage of the MMPro:

- 4S 1/8 Buggy
- 1900Kv - 2200Kv motor (sensored info preferred but sensorless good too)

Hmm, I always thought 5s was the new 4s.

I much prefer 5s to 4s lipo, the amp draw is considerably less, and everything just seems to run alot cooler. Plus you can get away with lower spec batteries if you desire, or just not push good batts as hard (they last longer that way).
