Thank you for the heads up Fast88.

Steering will hopefully not be an issue because you will end up shortening the EPA & dulling the dual rate anyway

I like running the GTP in a straight line. Takes a bit getting use too with the solid center diff. I can't launch at WOT, but have to ease into it. Saves ring gears that way too. I did get the hardend ring gears for mine. The stock ones didn't last long. Don't need crazy torque either so a 1512 or 2 pole motor is sufficient for my setup. My 2 pole motor has plenty of topend where it counts. My buddy is running my old 1515 2700kv motor in his GTP and loves it. He has plenty of ring gears at hand though.

I'm going to try to install a Slipperential w/mech brakes . Hope I succeed ?

Not to argue but from the pictures it doesn't seem to be anything that can't be worked with, It actaully doesn't look to be as extreme as you say ?

I have a Losi 8ight Nitro CD/brake assembly, I wounder if I could get Mikes mount to work w/it ?

Looks like a LX1-e with different shocks, towers and the like for dirt oval duty. The a-main link says 15mm offset hubs are included, doesn't say if standard ones are too. But thats probably where most of the left side bias comes from. Also that the shock tower is dirt oval specific, doesn't look like its biased one way or another in the pics though.

Thats why I posted these pics, I was having difficulty seeing the biased ?

Not the best pics, but this is how mine is.

Looks great Snell !
In the top pic, those tires look like whats comes in the kit, how are they ?

Thanks

nitrostarter 06.03.2010 09:24 AM

Bondo- I think those tires are Ipanema(sp?) tires which have a very good and sticky compound.

snellemin 06.03.2010 09:33 AM

Yup those are the Ipanemas. I forgot what shore they are. It's either 45 or 50. Works really well on concrete streets. No ballooning.....I did managed to unglue a small section. My buddy uses the GRP's and I like them just as much.

The bottom one pic has to 15 dollar Suprasales tires. 15 bucks for 4. They are only good for 30mph.

nitrostarter 06.03.2010 09:49 AM

I have a set of the GRP's coming. I know they are good for higher speeds and have been tested.

Bondo- are you going to use the Dirt Oval body or try something else?

Fast5sRevo88 06.03.2010 01:58 PM

The 15mm offset hubs must be a company joke, because with tires off i fail to see one side being longer:neutral:. And they are definitely 17mm in diameter. The offset seems to be mainly on the chassis, if you turn it upside down, the screws connecting front and rear bulkheads arent in the middle of the chassis.

I had a set of the Superasales slicks, after balanceing them I had them over 60mph MANY times on a Lightning 10 build and they were alright for what they were. I honestly dont think I'd trust them on a build of this caliber ?

That is my intention, yes. (not selling it)
I really like the look of the oval/late model style body and hope to make it work.

I noticed watching some drag videos that some of the guys running top fuel type RC's have a small vertical fin running lenth ways on the front/nose area of the bodys. Is this something that may benefit if I incorperate it on the "splitter"?

Can you please post a pic of the underside of your chassis.
Thank You.

snellemin 06.03.2010 03:42 PM

60MPH! Man I wish I could do that with the suprasales ones. I reglued them countless times. I can't really bitch though, as they are so cheap.

Here's a pic I took today of the bottom of my chassis. Notice that it's a bit offset. Second pic shows the GTP2 chassis that I took at the LHS today. Excuse the crappy iphone pics.
