beefy? this pole is easily 10-12 inches thick, and is used to be straight..... i'd say more than beefy! -lol-
http://f5.putfile.com/5/12703075516.jpg But to be honest - i have nothing to compare the 2230 to, except the nitro that came out of it -lol- all my leccy rc has been 10 scale... But as it is (stock gearing), it's quicker both top end and from a dead stop than the new LST2, and with almost twice the weight - i'd say damn impressive! hehehe But everything runs cool as, and i've had no problems whatsoever.... So to answer your question - i guess you could say i love the 2230! -lol- |
I've seen that picture before... that's brutal..
|
With a pole that was deep in the ground or not rotten, it would be impossible..
|
for sure... it must've been rottin' or not very deep... and there's no way the truck would look like that....

Ok bad news I have fried my warrior esc by my own stupidity. As I was cleaning off my truck I thought i was using a solvent for electric motors. (motor spray) it turns out I was using my nitro vehicle cleaner a mixture of denatured alcohol, simple green & wd40. NOT A GOOD COMBO as I applied the throttle the warrior smoked crackled then caught FIRE!! Well that was interesting. Man burning fets makes a nasty smell!! That was an expensive lesson. So I am thinking about what I should get to replace it. It ran well It never got that hot. So Iam torn between a new 9920 or the QUARK MONSTER a little more expensive. But I have heard some overheating issues. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
The (STUPID) CAPT!! |
I backed over a post that looked the same as the one in the pic with the wifes minivan....and i didn't notice it was pushing it so I gave it more gas..then I noticed I was pushing it......and it put a small dent in her bumper...so I think the photo isn't real....and the post is leaning and someone put the truck there and said they hit it......it's is not possible...with no damage...to the truck....unless the post is rotten at the bottom...even then there would be damage on the truck....just my .02 worth or opinion

BY the way thanks for all those who recommended the BEC to me it works perfectly and is a nice addition to the electronics package of my truck.

If you are looking at the Quark, IMO, they are hard to keep cool. But they are very smooth. Go with what you know is my advice.
|
Thanks NEWEUSER I'm thinking of going back with the 9920. It is fairly simple to operate and program.
|
No prob. I still run mine in my girls. If i had my 12020 back, i would sell you mine! LOL, it has been two months now! I run the quark, but like you said, it runs warm. No to happy about that. The 9920 seemed easier to keep cool, and i could run a taller gearing on it as well.
|
Thanks for the offer now I just have to wait for Mike to get them back in stock!!!
|
PM him! He may have them!
|
Thanks New, Iwill

A good heat sink seems to be key to keeping the quark cool. I've got mine bolted directly to the chassis of my truggy, and so far it's working great. Twenty minutes of hard running and it is only warm to the touch.

Cart213,
I was thinking of doing something like that. In my Lst I have a huge Aluminium Battery tray. I was thinking of somehow mounting the QUARK to it to keep it cool. there might be just enough room under the tray to mount it. Once again though I'm still leaning towards the 9920. I do have an opportunity to get a new quark for less than $250. THE CAPT |
