Daf that track is built in a clay pit, so they have a unlimited supply of clay. The track also has elevation changes. |
If I buy another truck right now, I'm going to wake up one morning with body parts missing; although it may very well be worth it.

would any of you guys see the point of making a new chassis aswell as making the motor mount? :002:
i wouldnt know actually but it would sure be sweet.:004: |
Anyone has received his XT8?? :004:
|
Hey, they put the "shipping now" note up on their site the day before yesterday. The cargo still has to travel to the importers, then to the suppliers, and then to the customers.... when they released the XB8EC, it was 5 weeks after the "shipping now" announcement until the first were sold.
The XRay factory and headquarter is in Slovak Republic... so expect new stuff from them to hit europe first :) Maybe just a few days, but still :) :) DAF |
My local dealer is told, that question of days!
probaly on start of next week i will get mine. I hope it :) |
Yeah, fingers are crossed, all over the globe :)

Guys,
For someone who wants to go offroad, and who wants to go xray, would you recomment the buggy or the truggy? I know this is kindda comparing apples and oranges, but I've never tried and basically don't know what kind of behaviour/performances differences I should expect between the two. I would not like to see that the truggy is on it's roof most of the time, like I sometime see in monster truck videos. Some models have such a high center of gravity that they seem to be upside down all the time, and I don't like that. Can you give comments about buggy/truggy choice? That would be for pleasure, maybe on track, but not competition. Thanks! |
I am afraid you seen videos with monster trucks not truggy
Main differense between MT and Truggy that truggy have center diff when MT have full 50/50 4WD. Center diff make truck more stable and prevent wheelies. I am highly recommend to you go to the track and look how real truggys perform and what you like more. Its different classes realy hard make parallels between them only chassis build is similar. Personaly I like truggy more than buggy. Its handle similar but more stable, on bumpy track its more stable. Bigger wheels looks cooler and body is cool its looks like true car |
Well, truggies are basically "suped-up" buggies as far as how they're built. Truggies have larger tires, usually a little more ground clearance, are geared a bit lower (diffs and maybe spur), a little wider wheelbase, a little heavier, and obviously use a truck body.
Depending on the MT, they do have a higher COG most of the time. MTs like the Revo are a bit better as they are designed more for the track in mind. Trucks like the Savage are meant to sit higher for even more ground clearance. Obviously, the more ground clearance you have, the higher the COG. That said, you'll probably be more stable when bashing (or track pleasure-racing) a Truggy. Although, the best solution to remain off the roof is to drive better! :) Believe me, I know what you mean though; I thought about using tires big enough so that I can still drive if it flips over! |
any one know if there are still problems with xray spider gears?
there was a long time problem with them end of 2006/beginning 2007. they werent hardened corectly and flew aparts in few runs.:002: |

As far as I know, this problem was associated with a certain batch of gears that were put in some TQ kits. Apparently the EC kits are all good, so I assume this is a problem of the past. BTW, we have one of the last TQs here that was sold by AMain, and the diffs seem to be good. |
