I am planning on running novak 7.5 in it. I already have the 7.5, 8.5, 10.5 and 13.5 motors. If i didn't already have the motors I would probable buy a 6.5 as bp suggested just because its a 4wd car and should be able to put the power down.

If your looking for info on brushless conversions you found the place here on the RC-monster forums.:017:
If your looking for a bolt in mount I would wait for Mike to get his mount and spur done if you want one now your going to have to redrill some holes in the chassis and use the Kyosho plastic spur see "Ricemans" post on doing this mod or find a hardened pinion? You can get the Mamba Max motor and ESC for around a 150 bucks I need to find that link? http://www.pfmdistribution.com/secur...y.asp?catid=54 I found the weak spot in the front end today at my friends MX track jumping a 20ft dbl jump I broke a front camber turnbuckle I found a screw that fit and cut it down to get it going again and lawn darted it later and broke the C-hub and upper camber link.:002: If you dont want to be sidelined I would recomend getting some spare turnbuckles and plastic parts to be safe.:032: |
do they make alumn knuckles for it

There not out yet I see in the back of the instrutions that Jammin is going to have lots of aluminum upgrades. I'm sure the aftermarket companys are going to get some aluminum part's out there but nothing yet?
I'm going to stop by the hobby shop and see if I can find some better ball ends that are stronger and less brittle? If I cant find anything better I may try boiling the parts to soften them up a little and see how that works. :) |

Yeah I know about that I thought you ment you can buy them now. :(
RC I do that with all my new cars take em out and see what breaks find the weak spots and fix em before I get to the track. The CRT.5 fly's great the balance is very neutral and the handling is very impresive with the battery mount and motor mount there is almost no chassis flex even the onroad handling is great. I'm thinking about picking up another one and basicly do the samething I did with my RC18B with a 4s or 5s lipo and a proper motor for a worlds fastest 1/12th scale RC car? :005: |
believe it or not but the crt.5 and the vendetta ST share the same driving and flying characteristics,,,, just on a larger scale ,,, thats the main reason why I want the crt.5 brushless
|
i want the same :043:

Here's an update I found a Neu 1506-1Y 5500kv motor for the CRT.5 time to see what a high end motor does compared to the Mamba motor?
I just got a Eagletree micro logger with a brushless rpm sensor and 2 temp sensors I'm going to try and get some good data on the Mamba before I install the Neu motor and compare the data see where the diference is and if it is worth the extra 100 bucks for the Neu? Hopefully the Mamba Max esc will run the Neu without cogging if not I may try the Quark 80amp esc.:032: This should be interesting.:005: |
U HAVE to make shure all the info is posted here! i bet with caps, and hard wire there will bo NO probs

Well I got the Neu 1506-1Y today and got it mounted up in the CRT.5 hopefully the MM esc is going to work? see how it goes tomarrow keep my fingers crossed:013:
I snaped a shot of the motor and battery mount the blue aluminum diff mount is off my CRT with the buggy diff tubes it's 2 pc's and clamps the diff bearing so I can put the diff in and set the pinion & spur mesh with the motor and diff out of the chassis.:027: I ordered some titanium turnbuckles from Lundsford they dont have a kit yet so I had to piece together my own here's the part numbers if your interested.:017: #1009 3x20mm servo link #1069 3mmx2" steering tie rods #1072 3mmx2-3/8" rear camber link #1029 4x23mm front upper arms the stock one is 3.5x24mm but lundsford does not have any 3.5mm turnbuckles so I went with the 4mm and im going to open the holes up a little it should be a little stronger I have already snaped a stock one. :dft012: |
Looks good! I'm really interested to hear if your MM and 1506 work well together. Let us know!
