I think that esc's catch phrase is "the only esc you have to hold with 2 hands" lol.

Love the truck and vids, keep 'em up!

Today wasn't a good day. It was windy here in NJ, but the wind wasn't the problem. Check out the 2 pictures:

It still went 59MPH, but I slowed down because of the tires:

I will put my foam tires on and try again another day. The foam tires are a bit smaller in diameter, but it will have to do for now. The lipos that I used are worthless. A few cells seems to have puffed after the run. For the next run I will bring my 36v packs down to about 30v and wire them in series. Lets see how that motor and foams like 60v. I'm also going to see if I can change the center diff and put my solid center in the truck.

:) I don't know if that ESC will take 60 volts dude... the solid center would be nice.. or you can find some way to lock the center diff. I like where your project is going...

aqwut,

I just rounded ot te numbers. I'm thinking of bringing the pack's voltage down to about 28.5 to 29 volts. That should be near the limit of the ESC.

aqwut 06.06.2007 08:14 AM

Very cool dude... I'm sure you're gonna break some Monster Truck speed records...

lutach 06.06.2007 09:28 AM

When are you going to join the fun? LOL!!!

Lutach....

Dude! You're crazy! But I can't wait to see how it turns out! Good luck with it!

I have to give Bomb-Proof Products a lot of credit on this truck. It is simply taking the abuse. I think we all need to do HV projects like this so manufactures will put out some real ESC that puts the power out and can handle HV.

in the [HV] r/c fast electric boating community we refer to the Schulze 40-160 controls as Pop Tarts... a reference to thier size

you picked the right esc for this mission... good luck sir!

There is a bigger controller out there and I'm trying to see if I can get my hands on one. It is rate at 200A and can handle 14S lipos. How is beautifull Florida?
