Go for it. There are a few nice ones around. Our very own Serum did one.

Welcome to the forum skyler.
If you want a truggy. Mike has a slipperential coming out that will bolt to a gmaxx chassis. I think a e truggy would be great. I had a center diff on a gmaxxx and liked the way it drove. |
Welcome Skyler!
I know what you mean, the most controlable RC is a buggy.. Nicest to run with is a truck, so a truggy should be a nice combination of both. I made a lightweight maxx, and thought it started to look more like a truggy.. Extended in the length, extended in the width.. Put a wing on it, truggy like tires... Voila.. A truggymaxx.. So i really can imagine your urge of converting a lightning. They are nice and easy to do. Did you see the pictures? you can use the 46T kyosho spurs on the HB diffs, (metal spurs are pinion killers) i don't know if they fit the centerdiffholder though. |
The spur shouldn't have any problems clearing, Serum. I put a Ofna 8 Spyder with a slightly smaller spur on mine and it fit perfect. Most all of that stuff interchanges.
|
It's the distance between the two stands that is my concern. I needed to modify a kyosho spur to make it work (a red one with a steel insert)
with that spur on, i needed more space between the two holders. Most of the diff stuff isn't interchangeable. all use different size of bearings, different cups, different drivecups and a different way of mounting the spur. not to mention different dimensions. |
Yes I did see the pics. Actually Serum, those pics and this thread have just persuaded me to buy an LSP. Won one on ebay when I made my last post.
The emaxx just seems to be the wrong platform for an off-road vehicle with many cells. Put more than 14 cells on it and everything starts breaking. It’s just not designed for such power. And that much power demands handling that a stock MT can’t deliver. I don’t think an emaxx was designed for that kind of power to begin with. Serums Lighting though makes total sense. People might be just shoving heaps of cells into emaxx’s because there are no companies making e truggies. I know now I was. Still might not be the case for everyone though and it still is cool having a Maxx with all the bling that can handle big power. Sorry for writing so much, it’s just that I’ve found a new direction in RC. Am looking forward to Mikes slipperential! Thanks guys. Great info here. |
A stock emaxx can't handle alot of power.
They have so many upgrades for the emaxx though. The most sells ran on me for me was 26. I think johnny maxximuma has ran 28. If you like a monster truck that will handl 16 to 18 cells in stock form. The mgt is a good truck. Put the emaxx trans with steel idlers and run it. |
