jUst wanted to know, how much were your electronics, I want to really get my project DM-1 started someday soon.... besides the electronics, what else did you have to modify or buy from RC monster?

thanks a whole bunch for the excitment!:yes::party::yes:

Did you ever figure out anything for the brakes? I want one of these things, bad. I would want to do an hv setup, probably on an airplane controller, so I would run the mechanical brakes. You can just double them up, correct? Or if you swap to the center diff, you could use the buggy brake setup. Ill probably end up using a center diff and doubled up front discs with a single rear.

The speed control is available here at RCM for about $275 and the motor was aorund $325. You dont have to use that high end of equipment to make one go though. The Mamba Monster Max or Tekin 1/8 controller/motor setups will likely be cheaper than that and should be a great fit when they are released (soon hopefully). Even a Mamba Max and Feigao on 4s would work. The car is no heavier than a 1/8 buggy and they work fine in that application.

The only other thing I bought was the Jammin Buggy motor mount from RCM. The rest of the stuff I made myself.

Any of the solutions you mentioned should work fine for solving the brake fade issue I ran into. I got a pair of fibergalss disks to replace the singel steel disk. I haven't been able to test it yet due to the winter weather, but expect it should do the job as well.

Yea it getting there now. I will probably be a couple more weks before I get it out running again. Still cold at night and I generally do most of my on road running on friday nights in store parking lots atfer closing so there arent any cars around. Need some decent evening temps before I head out there for the spring. But hopefully soon!

Yea. The Monster Max would be a killer esc for this. I gotta say though 6s would be nuts on this car. Its nuts on 5s I can imagine adding more power.

Go for it. Its a great poject.

jzemaxx 05.02.2008 09:57 PM

Nuclear 05.03.2008 07:59 AM
