BrianG 01.30.2008 06:36 PM

March what? Just curious cause mine's the 25th...

Sammus 01.30.2008 06:38 PM

5/3/85 right here or as you might prefer to see it.... 3/5/85 :P

Sower 01.30.2008 06:45 PM

Hello? Joe? Dude, please don't tell me you left already. C'mon - give us the low down on the KV of the motor(s) that will come out.

and which one first? or will all be available at the same time?

Great to see you here Joe. That is what I want to know too. If it is just going to be the higher kv motor i'll probably grab another motor until the lower kv combos are released.

Right on Joe!!! Dude, welcome back - hey, let me get this started by asking for a quick clarification from you - what are the specs going to be?

Look above for ESC specs. Motor specs have not been finalized but rough kv's are 2200, 1750, and 1550. We're not saying exactly which date guys...we can't see the future.

Nope, was just on the phone picking up a new sponsored driver.

Dagger Thrasher 01.30.2008 06:55 PM

This sounds incredible, and it's good to have you back here on the forums Joe. :-)

So the MMM is officially going to be 200A continuous? I was sure that it was posted before that it would be 175A cont., and 200A burst...but hey, the bigger the better!

PS: If you see a homeless guy with a little black dog don't throw bottles.

Hey there Mt are you working:whistle:? If so why don't you put your foot down about how you spend your hard earned money:na:? Show her who wears the pants in your family.....:whip: Life is too short to be pushed around by the woman in your life. Sometimes you just have to go for it and do it your way. You could live your last day at any time you know?

The woman isn't really that bad. I just use her as my excuse. I do work and I am paid well (maybe not that well) but being young and having lots of bills and rent and saving for a house at the same time doesn't leave a lot of spending money for me, especially after the repair bills .

And I know what you mean about any day could be your last. I ride to work down the road and every day I get on the bike I pray the tools who think it's clever to drive down the cycle lane to give the cyclist a fright don't actually hit me. Or the people who pull out in front of me cause they don't realise I'm doing 50kmh (down hill with tail wind ).

I too only know of 5s being used in a MM, but here are mine and mega's emails about the subject.

Here's mine ;

I just read the article on the Losi 8ight electric you built for robinson racing, I have a few questions. Is the battery setup parallel or series? What gearing is it set up for? And, what are the speeds is it setup for? I aksed the magazine and they said it was parallel and it run 40 MPH. Looking at the gearing diff ratio and tire size, I don't think it would do what they said in parallel, It would need a 32 tooth pinion to pull that off, in my opinion
thank you
here is Mega's reply;

Larry:

It is wired in series. 22 Volts at 2200 MAH.
We used a 17 tooth pinion for general use and an 18 tooth for top speed of 48 mph.
It draws more current at 18 tooth so run time is less. 2200 Mah is a small cell for this use.

17 tooth would be good on a track. You can not run 48 mph on most tracks. Energy use is better. In one case we used 100 Mah per minute of run time.

Yeah, I saw that after I put my question up. You must have gone back and edited your post while I was typing. Sneaky.

Anyway, thanks for giving us an idea on the KV's of the motors. This is excellent news. And it's so nice to see you'll be giving us a nice ESC that will handle 6s. I'm not as concerned about high amps as I am high voltage so I'm stoked. Especially since I already bought a 6s battery betting on you guys coming out with the MMM in the spring!

Thanks for the update here Joe - you can get back to your phone calls!

lincpimp 01.30.2008 08:03 PM

Thanks for the updates Joe. It is nice to hear that it will be a 6s esc. Cant wait!

On a side note I just received my Sidewinder. Very nice looking esc, well put together. Case design is nice and construction/appearance looks to be even better tha the MM. I will try it out with a novak motor in my xxx-cr and see how it does.

ClodMaxx 01.30.2008 08:08 PM

yes - thanks for the update, joe - and welcome back! sheesh, what will you do with your time once the MMM is out and no once can complain about the next project due date??

the wolves must be busy elsewhere. i'm more the red riding hood type... 'my, what a big brushless motor you have grandma!'

DrKnow65 01.30.2008 08:23 PM

Nice Clodmaxx :) just made my evening (big smile, kids are asking what is so funny, don't think they will get it :)

captain harlock 01.30.2008 08:52 PM

Is there a possibilty that we can exceed 6s to 7-8s without making the controller go smoky?
