How about a hard hat with a camera mount attached ?

Nard Cox 07.27.2009 03:48 PM

That would be even better! I do have a hat lying around here somewhere with a 'sun visor' (no idea how you say it). Worth giving it a shot altough most of the time I race with some buddies and we film using tri pods (see here).

Most cameras have the threaded hole on the bottom for the tripod mount you could just thread a bolt through the hard hat and tighten a nut on and screw the camera on ?
You wouldn't need a "mount" then. I'm gonna try it ?

Edit; Just bought one on Fleabay for 11.00 new.

lol gonna need a shot of that hardhat setup  may work tho.
I recnetly bought one of these gopro on board cams and as a option they sell a wrist mount deal you can put the cam on your wrist, maybe one of those could be fitted for a larger handheld cam? use it on your hand that holds the tx since I tend to follow the cars movements with the tx anyways haha.

Yes, it is pretty hard to drive and film at the same time. I definetely can't concentrate 100% to controlling the car, so no "super tricks" this time.
I have a decent tripod, but then there's the problem of stationary camera and I like to follow the car while it's moving.

Hmm.. helmet cam... there's a funny idea...

Curious on a couple things, just went back and reread what you have done so far. So this kershaw direct drive, alot better then the stock flux tranny? and doe sone need to get those gears you got? Whats the cost for the cen mod?

Kershaw tranny is atleast better than the stock 3spd (even modded) and it can be "reversed" which positions the motor towards front of the car.
Center driveshafts and gears come with transmission, I just had to get spare gear to replace the broken one.
Flux tranny should be quite durable too. The choice is prolly done by the motor position.

Complete CEN diffs go between 30 and 50$ at eBay, that's about all the conversion costs.

Just been all over the net reading about the cen mod and seems like a good deal. I like the fact you can flip your motor, the front end needs some weight for sure. I just put in a flux tranny in my conversion and its doing ok so far, before that I had a 2 speed locked up but I need to change my gearing cause its much slower now.

Another plus for the KD direct drive is having reverse. Just be careful not to have it hit to hard or your in for some $$$. Make sure you program your esc curve to come into reverse a little slowly. On another note I've had very few problems with a locked 2-speed tranny. I broke the tabs off once, but I epoxy'd the last one and no problems.
