Yeah, that was the kit I've been pointing at.
Well, back to my silly questions:
Will the UE shock towers fit in the Hybrids? |
yes
What about the racerX VBS suspension kit ( without shock towers)? will it fit with the hybrids?
Not without a shocktower....
Please, sneek, be a bit specific.:)
hes saying if you get the racer-x vbs system (one without towers) you would still need to get towers. i would go with the ue knucklhead or flm. you can get the racer-x with the knuckleheads (non-vbs). either way you have to have shock towers unlike the ue vbs towered system with the built in towers.
Yeah, I know that already, but I got a bit confused. Thanks, Squee and Sneek.

ANOTHER updated list. I'm not sure I'm satisfied with the results, yet:
- FLM HYBRID BULKS - FLM HALF CASE FOR TRANNY - UE KNUCKLEHEADS SHOCK TOWERS - RC MONSTER HEAT SINK "XL" SIZE - RC-MONSTER IDLER GEAR - STROBE SLIPPER KIT - G-MAXX SINGLE SPEED CONV. - UE FRONTAL CENTER SHAFT AND CUP - UE SERVO SAVER KIT - UE CVDs - DACE HEX ADAPTERS ( BLUE) - EXTENDED BODY - 7.5 8 SPYDER DIFFS - UE RACER X SUSPENSION KIT FOR VBS, TOWERLESS - FLM CHASSIS KIT - FLM TRANNY SKID PLATE - FLM FRONT SKID PLATE - FLM REAR SKID PLATE - SCREW KIT 10.9G FOR SUPERMAXX - UE SUPER SHOCKS - TRAXXAS SLIPPER TENSION SPRING - TRAXXAS OUTPUT SHAFT - TRAXXAS INPUT SHAFT - TRAXXAS SLIPPER PRESS PLATES - TRAXXAS OUTPUT 31T GEAR - BODY CLIPS - MOTOR PLATE - PROLINE BOW TIES - PROLINE 23MM VELOCITY RIMS - CVD BOOTIES - STOCK BODY POSTS - TRANNY BEARINGS - UE STEEL PILLOW BALLS - IDLER GEAR SHAFT - UE SETBACK ARMS - OFNA MOD1 SPUR GEAR - 18T MOD1 4MM BORE PINION GEAR - ALUMINUM SERVO HORN - STEERING LINKAGE Well, thats about everything, though I'm still thinking about getting a gmaxx chassis and UE extension, but..... |
Scratch Steering linkage because that's the UE servo saver. I have Flm shock towers and they are nice! What kind of CVD's are you going to use??
I wouldn't reccomend alluminium skid plates, titanium would be alot better. Thats from my own experience though. :)
If you order the racerx kit for vbs towerless. You do not need to get the knucklehead towers they are part of the kit. Kinda seems funny when you look at it but the VBS can be had either towered or towerless the suspension is oposite.
I also have the FLM aluminum skids and they are very thick. It would take a serious wreak to bend them.

UE motherload shock acc. Ton's and ton's of part's of the racer x shock's.
The linkage that goes from servo to servo saver can be made by hand using a long enough m3 or m4 screw. Cut it to length and screw some rod end's on. Done. |
I use the original traxxas rodends to connect the saver to the horn. You just need to make them a bit smaller, and with a piece of M3 thread you can connect them together.

Yo Rene get on msn man we need to talk.

pro kit=$ 470 towerless= $399 Need some clarification, please.:P: |
The 470 dollar kit comes with the towers and the 399 kit comes without the towers.
Well, I still cant see why is it so expensive to be sold for 470, though a knucklehead kit costs only 40 dollars. I need some more clarification.:)
You won't find any.. :p
Aaaah...screw it. I give up on RC.
What advantages am I gonna get out of the gmaxx chassis and what disadvantages? I'm aiming at the alum. The CF is not for bashing, I guess.
Is the workmanship of the G-maxx chassis better than the FLM one? Is the Gmaxx worth $175 or not? why do you think so? What does the Gmaxx chassis kit include? End of questions.:) |
the only disadvantage is that with the g-maxx you will lose ground clearance but isnt a big deal unless you do some SERIOUS bashing. if you do i would go with the flm. both are VERY nice and i honestly think that the g-maxx chassis is well worth it as is the flm. the g-maxx includes, the 2 top plates, 2 xbraces, the bottom plate, and hardware.
Will the FLM tranny skid fit in the G-maxx chassis?
no, the g-maxx bottom plate is basically the skid. the skid is to protect the tranny from stuff but the chassis already does that.
Is there a possibility to put the FLM chassis upside down so the battery plates will get lower and increase CG as well? .....hope it doesn't sound stupid.
It has been decided, dude, go for a GorillaMax and stop digging already.
:) |
O'boy....:M:
as papa indirectly said no it wont work but the flm chassis is designed to allow the batteries to be mounted on the under side for a lower cg.
Can I mount the batts on both the upper and the under side at once?
With enough velcro strap's you might be able to do that lol.
Wouldn't look pretty but it would work. |
I'll do it with the aluminum straps in mind.
