His job is to prey on Noobs.

He goes on all the forums and preaches garbage and brainwashes folks to buy MA and pushes inferior kits and products cause he gets the free toys and perks.

Hi Mike,
it's been around 3+ weeks since you last posted an update. How are things progressing and can you reveal a little more on what to expect?

I myself have a ton of questions... Will it only be sold as a full kit or can the mount (and other parts) be purchased separately? Does the 2215 still fit the mount or has that changed? What does the kit consist of? Pics?...

Guess I could just go on and on. Let us know how things are going.

Thanks.

I see that RC-Monster is listed for the March RCX show. Anything new going to be at that show? Oh I don't know...maybe a certain conversion kit????

The baja conversions are getting very close - and I will have one at the RCX show on my Baja. I will get some pictures here first, though. :)

thomatrix 02.26.2010 04:50 AM

Very nice Mike. I very much look forward to some details about the kit. Does the 2215 still fit and can it be bought as both a full kit and mount only...?

Hey, Mike. I know you were planning to have these for sale before the RCX show. Are they still on track? Will you still have one on display at RCX even if they aren't ready for sale?
I'm actually going to the show this year, so I'm looking forward to seeing the Monster booth!

RC-Monster Mike 03.09.2010 01:45 PM

I am planning to have my Baja at the show - the kits will go into production after the show. I look forward to meeting you at the show. :)

thomatrix 03.09.2010 02:32 PM

Will you still post pics and reveal some info before the show?

RC-Monster Mike 03.09.2010 02:59 PM

I like the looks of your conversion. Looks very clean.

Looks like you have to run your custom transmission plate? It looks like your plate is the same thickness of stock, have you thought about running it thicker like the Turtle Racing plate?

SV6000 03.16.2010 12:09 AM

What speed controller are you using???

RC-Monster Mike 03.16.2010 12:12 AM

The lower plate is thicker than stock - stock is 4mm, mine is 3/16 (4.8mm). I had to mill extra pockets so the plastic skid would fit. The motor plate and chassis brace(opposite motor mount) are .325" thick(8.3mm) and are attached through the bottom of the lower plate, to the top of the rear bulk plate and to the main chassis extrusion - it is quite solid/rigid.

RC-Monster Mike 03.16.2010 12:15 AM

Gonna try a Phoenix HV 110 next. It will ultimately use the Castle HV car version when it is ready(will beta test on this rig). I also have the HV180 boat ESC that works well(ran previously). The motor installed now is a 1527/2.5D and the battery is a 6500mah 35c/65c 7s Hyperion G3 geared with a 12t pinion on the stock spur. It should do alright for now. :)

Thanks, didn't even notice the first time around that you machined a new rear lower chassis plate. Will you have a motor plate with spacing for a 22xx Neu as well as the 15 series?

RC-Monster Mike 03.16.2010 01:22 AM

The design accomodates the 22 series motors - I made an adapter to use the 15 series on my truck. The 15 series motors have an advantage in that they allow smaller pinions - the 22 series is limited to around 15t with the mechanical brakes and perhaps a 13 or 14t without the mechanical brakes. :)

suicideneil 03.16.2010 01:56 AM

Sweet- either that motor looks small though, or bajas are larger than they look in alot of pictures ( nothing for scale as such )....

To give you some perspective...that spur gear is about 90mm in diameter.

Ryu James 03.16.2010 02:59 AM

looks good mike. i am gonna have to pick one of these up soon.

OZ-RUSTLER 03.16.2010 07:18 AM

Hey Mike, looks fantastic.
Any chance of this conversion being available anodized?
Maybe gunmetal?

+1 - Looks great Mike. Count me in for one.

Electric Eel 03.17.2010 07:23 PM

Any price point yet for the kit? I'm guessing 250 to 300? Oh what does it matter, I'm getting 2, one for my 5T and one for my 5B no matter what. My wife is already mad about all the money I spend on toys. She actually brought up retirement the other day. Spend on retirement?:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Electric Eel 03.21.2010 10:38 AM

Here is a link to some pictures of the kit from the RCX show.

Bondonutz 03.21.2010 02:52 PM

That tank thing wuz BAD ASS !!!!

Kcaz25 03.22.2010 12:44 AM

That all that was awesome!! Mikes was still the coolest. BL. I don't understand why everyone in the last 5 or so pictures had to give middle fingers to the camera. Sometimes I'm embarrassed for humanity.

thomatrix 03.27.2010 04:33 AM

Hi Mike,
it's been a week since the show and you mentioned bringing forward pricing and release date after it. Anything you can share with us now that the season is drawing nearer?

Thanks

Yeah it's really goin to be nice when this takes off for those of us that live and run our baja's in residential areas this will be nice please let us know !!:rules:

RC-Monster Mike 03.29.2010 12:52 PM

I jsut got back on friday and my Baja won't be back until Wednesday or Thursday. I will update the rear upper plate to accept the Cstle HV ESC when the beast arrives(beta ESC is here waiting for installation). The actual holdup will be the raw material and machine time - expect +/- 2 weeks before these are ready for sale, but the product listing will show up on the site this week. :)

Kcaz25 03.29.2010 10:52 PM

BETA!! Saweet!

thomatrix 03.30.2010 01:34 AM

Sounds great. Let us know in here when it's up on the site.

thomatrix 04.01.2010 03:19 AM

Funny. I find myself checking rc-monster.com on a daily basis now that Mike announced it would be on the site this week. Been wanting this brushless car for so long an now that it's finally possible to buy the necessary conversion kit I can't wait to place that order and build the car. Amazing what a toy can do to a grown up man :)

Electric Eel 04.03.2010 06:14 PM

Here are some more RCX pics of Mike's kit. Look in the first group of photos near the bottom.
