Both... MMP takes about 1/2 the hand-work time of MM, and because of new chips, has a lower total cost to build.

Don't you love technology?

emaxxnitro 08.01.2009 01:50 PM

yes much!

Well, as I said earlier -- the delay has been caused by the fan -- we had a custom made fan done which will take much more shock. We had issues in Beta 1 and Beta 2 with the fan being damaged by shock that we considered to be nominal.

The new fan is much more rugged -- and is a totally new stator design. We just (on Friday) approved the new fan for production. We should have the new fans in stock in about 2 weeks, and MMP production will go into full-speed.

ravin 08.02.2009 12:09 PM

Will the new fan fit the mmm also?

whitrzac 08.02.2009 07:40 PM

the first batch goes to RCM members, right???

emaxxnitro 08.02.2009 10:06 PM

Nope, sorry -- MMM = 30mm fan, MMP = 25mm fan

BrianG 08.02.2009 11:52 PM

When can we see some current pics and specs?

Are the motors 540 size? I'm dumping my MM and getting this for my slash. Since it's sensored I'll probably go with the package to use the feature. I don't want more overheating like with the 5700.

BrianG 08.03.2009 10:44 AM

It's not the sensorless aspect that makes the 5700 overheat. The 5700 is simply too high a kv to use effectively in the Slash. You have to gear wayyy down, to the point where the pinion is itty-bitty. From experience, 3s on a 3000-3500kv motor is best. I use 4s on a 50mm long 540-style 2200kv motor, and I don't think temps have ever gotten more than merely warm.

nitrostarter 08.03.2009 10:46 AM

Get a lower Kv for the slash. Or a bit stronger motor than the 5700. Honestly, the MM and VXL motor is a great combo.

Any ETA of deliveries? I guess I have to gather some money for one of these for my Rustler....

V0RT3X 08.03.2009 10:47 AM

I know, it's just since I'm getting an ESC with sensored capability I want to use it. :)

BTW I'm already using the VXL motor now. But my MM is dead now.

What about a 4400kv on 3s in a 1/16 Slash?

Is it a 380 size motor or 540? 1/16 Slash weight less than half of the 1/10 Slash so it wont be any problem with a 540 size motor

Kcaz25 08.06.2009 08:59 AM

Can't wait for the MMP!!

Just ordered one today. This time I plan to run it in my hyper 9e on 6s. Also have a hv servo coming to take advantage of the adjustable voltage for the bec. Hopefully the bec will not get to hot when running 6s since that was an issue with the earlier version.

I came across this while I was looking for some data on the MMM. Are we to assume these specifications of the MMP are obsolete? Or is it a mislabelling of the Mamba Max?
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2528/...fb36db3f_o.jpg

BrianG 08.10.2009 01:31 PM

Must be obsolete because I know for a fact it is rated for 6s. Current rating is probably about right.

Byte 08.10.2009 04:23 PM

two post above: that's standing there for about a year, maybe even longer...

Sammus 08.10.2009 07:30 PM

yeah, notice there is no regular mamba max in that list, that is probably a slightly modifided max (ie fan added)

Pdelcast 08.11.2009 03:37 PM

Coming soon -- still waiting on the new fans to be delivered.

And yes -- that table is old.

nitrostarter 08.11.2009 03:38 PM

Sounds good!

Approx. how long once you guys get the fans in?

About two weeks from when we receive the fans to when they hit the distributors.

nitrostarter 08.11.2009 04:08 PM

Nice!

Anxiously waiting greatness...

Will the beta testers get theirs around the same timeframe?
