1/5th scale? No, I'm not into that (yet).

But I do want an E Revo on 8S really bad.

lutach 03.12.2010 08:22 PM

I already run 8S in my light weight truggy. Super efficient and haven't had any problems with overheating and getting less then 30 minutes on 25C lipos. I'll probably wait a bit until everyone is happy to get one though.

OZ-RUSTLER 03.12.2010 09:10 PM

Have an Neu 2220 being built and have a pair of Hyperion 6S G3's ready.
Just waiting on controller and Mikes conversion.

I think just "Nuts" would be appropriate for such insanity. I knew there had to be people out there running some of these setups already. I've seen videos of a 10s setup with a Neu 2225, and all I can say is...wow. I didn't think you could move 20 pounds around like that, but it was doing it and then some. It's good to see there are setups out there you could take you for a spin around the block.

I have heard rumors that Castle is working on their own Baja kit. No comment, right Tom.

Now that's a video I'd like to see! :yipi: And I can't comment on something I know nothing about. Sometimes it's better to not know and plausible deniability can be a powerful ally. I doubt you'll see too much hardware from us, but sometimes you never know.

SV6000 03.12.2010 10:38 PM

I have an 8s revo that i am currently running, i would take two of your speed controllers.

nitrostarter 03.12.2010 11:23 PM

Thomas, when these become available in a hydra version as well, you can consider a bunch sold! PLENTY of 10s-12s power boats built.

Check offshoreelectrics.com

Finnster 03.12.2010 11:24 PM

No baja, not cool enough for that, but I do have a very large and heavy Savage XL already w/ a 1521 on 8S. Been using an HV MGM for a while, but want to see how the CC esc stacks up.

Come on now...

thomatrix 03.13.2010 03:59 AM

I am one (important) item away from starting on my Baja 5B project.

Now here is the setup as I see it:
Car: HPI Baja SS (got three to choose from)
BEC: CC BEC PRO (got it)
Motor: Neu 2215 750KV (On it's way from offshoreelectrics)
Kit: RC-Monster (hoping Mike will soon get it done:love:)
Batteries: Will test 8S, 10S and 12S setup (Got all the batteries)
ESC: What I really want is your ICE HV Car ESC but for now I have the Turnigy Monster-2000 200A 4-12S Brushless ESC and will test on that.

nl12 03.13.2010 08:51 AM

Mine will go in a 1/8 9s lipo

I have CASH waiting, but it may be best to put it in a mason jar and bury it in the back yard! LOL

SV6000 03.23.2010 09:05 PM

I have sold off not needed plettenberg motors, MGM and schulze speedys, flightpower bateries and have a credit card with a huge limit and cash all for this Castle controller

lutach 03.23.2010 09:11 PM

I'll wait until you guys test it out. Patience is my best friend. I do have a nice HV set up that will keep me occupied until the Castle HV controllers comes out .

Thomas Porfert 03.23.2010 10:02 PM

Patience is certainly a virtue. Anyone who rode out the V1/V2 MMM storm knows this first hand. We learn from our mistakes and as such we do a couple of rounds of thorough testing on every new product; using as many real world scenarios and setups as possible.

Rest assured the gears are turning and many things are happening as we speak. This thing will be here before you know it, but we're not letting any dates slip as of yet. As soon as there is any new information available, this will be the first place I go.

Castle is coming out with many new products, there are so many I'd love to tell you about... but I'm not going to spoil anything; I'll let Pat be the one to break the news on upcoming releases. :) Let me just say that we have just seen the tip of what this technology has to offer and the next year should be quite exciting. We came out swinging with the Phoenix ICE line and the Mamba Max Pro, and we don't plan on letting up anytime soon.

So far I have been racing for a year with CC stuff and many wins later, no complaints. The stuff is still rocking and rolling on the track in the weekends.

Good to hear, I can't wait to see what Castle is coming out with.

Electric Eel 03.25.2010 04:41 AM

I have been running an Ice HV160 with a Pistix on my Baja. Will the new car esc be worth buying for me? Or will I not notice a difference from my current setup?

V0RT3X 03.28.2010 08:31 AM

There was some stuff at RCX:

http://www.shrani.si/t/37/Wt/4AuHoLb3/baja0.jpg http://www.shrani.si/t/2T/sw/4eoCscQV/baja1.jpg

nitrostarter 03.28.2010 11:41 AM

Thomas, I hope you guys are incorporating the sensored setup in the the Mamba Max systems. It seem like guys areound here are trying the Tekin setups more and more and like the "smoothness" of them.

It wouldn't make a difference to me. I'll always run a MMM until you guys come out with something else. Speaking of, I have a older MMM with bullets connecotrs all around, I think V1, thats I might have to send in for replacement.

Go Castle!

Electric Eel 03.31.2010 08:17 PM

Any updates yet, guys? The beta testers like Mike must have turned in some reports. How about the name?
Mamba Monster Ice HV?
Ice Monster?
Super Monster?
MMMM HV?

RC-Monster Mike 03.31.2010 08:22 PM

My Baja just got back from RCX yesterday, so I won't log any time on the HV until the weekend(and will report to Castle soon after) - I can hardly wait to get this thing churning the dirt!

Manne 04.03.2010 03:54 PM

Any updates on the escīs??

nuz69 04.06.2010 08:50 AM

Some new Castle motors with low kV (1000-1200) combined to the new HV ESC would be terrific in terms of torque and temps :D When will Castle do low kV motors ??? 1520 2.5D ;)

Electric Eel 04.17.2010 05:48 PM

Updates? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Romster 04.25.2010 01:33 PM

I will also be waiting patiently for this new HV Esc.
Need it for a 8s set-up with a Lehner 1950 11 hi-amp motor.

Mamba Maximus?

lincpimp 05.07.2010 02:59 PM

I would like the 85 amp hv ice model with some car software.... Maybe just forward, no brakes or reverse would be cool.

I have a project, even a 60amp esc would be cool if could handle 12s.

Electric Eel 05.14.2010 03:35 AM

Well, the complete lack of news tells me that this controller won't be available until next year at the earliest. Time to pick up a standard HV160 and another Pistix. Hope I'm wrong, it would have been nice to have a summer of HV action.
