Just a quick update for the team.
I sent my MGM back to manufacture on the 21st of last month and just received an email confirmation that they have send it back to me! (hooray) per the tracking number I should have it by Friday and be bashing my Saturday.. I'm looking forward to posting some pics of it dirty and bandaged up from the this weekend anticipated beating. :yipi: I got so excited of the news I went to the local skate shop and picked up the a preformed ramp see pictures below.. The measurements of the ramp are (24”w x 44”l x 12” high) cant wait to lunch it off it.. I know 12’ tall is nothing but hay it’s a start!.. http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...ofIMG_2663.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...ofIMG_2662.jpg P.S. The Ramp was a whopping $28 bucks and fits in the trunk in my car.. Look out local parks here I come.. for that cheep of price I will pick up another one so I jump it going and comming. P.s.s. The ramp is really well constructed! and should provide a fun time for many jumping’s. I'm already thinking of how I can get it too 16" high.. |
Yeah, my local toystore carrys them and they also have tabletops

Thanks.. |
I always use those plastic ramps. They may look small, but when you launch them at 40mph, I must say that many broken parts should be expected. I was going about 30 - 33 mph with my 1/8 buggy, off it and it flew about 38 feet (measured) and about 12 - 14 feet high.

The antenna mount is from Ofna part # 10142, Ultimate hobbies has them for $4.95  Hope that helps... have a great one.. |
We have a roller / we have Video!!
Good morning team,
I had the opportunity to run my GEVO for the first time today :yipi: and I also learned (kind of) how to use my Windows Movie maker .. I still haven’t figured out how to add a title, credits or sound so (SORRY).. :rules: As for it’s first time out, I was extremely pleased with it, power, handling, ect!. I'm running it with the Neu 1515 3ds, MGM 160amp controller and duel 3s 5400mah = 6s. Absolutely NO heat issues at all for the motor, ESC or Lipos.. Motor 95%, ESC 85%, Lipos 75% after 15 minutes of bashing. Gearing is 20/52 (apparently the old saying is true! you do get what you pay for!).. Tomorrow I plan on using my ramps, I’ll post some shots of it airborne distance and height soon.. Thanks so much for your time and have a great day.. Shaun. Here is the video!.. :gasp: I hope you like it.. P.S. If you don’t want the screen to flicker while viewing (click FILL SCREEN) on the bottom right hand side).. http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...un05-09-08.jpg |
Great
Good job TDC. So my anaysis would have to be that the truck obviously has a great deal of power and the temps sounds like you have the setup right on the money. From the video the truck has too much power. That thing would be awsome if it were just a bit longer and maybe a little bit wider wheelbase wise. I see you finally got the MGM hooked up with the right programming. What was the magic trick to accomplish that feat. Once again nice work guy, and if you find a way to get all of the power under control it will be a good contender for racing. Having fun is what counts TDC. What kind of runtime are you getting with those batteries?

Thanks for the kind words Sir.. I had a "fricken blast today", it was extremely rewarding to finally have all of my hard earned $$ and time finally pay off.. As for the length, well I’m stock there it's already the longest / extended chassis i can buy, as for the wheel base your dead correct!. I did by the extended rear A-Arms from Mike, but I thought I would install them after I brake my RPM one's (If they will brake??). The Controller was sent back to MGM more than three weeks ago and came back with all updates installed, I just installed it out the package. (luckily me it finally worked!):yipi:. As luck would have it there is brand new track opening up in Huntington Beach at the end of the month (YES!!).. I'll plan on racing it as soon as possible / my driving skills improve.. I completely agree "having fun is all that counts!!". I've been averaging about 20 minutes out of my Venom 3s 5400, I don’t know if that par for the course, but it provides me with plenty of time for bashing / smiles and any 15 minute heat race (cant wait to smoke some Nitro guys) Thanks for the comments.. Have a great one.. |
