More evidence that the driver is in fact Charlie Sheen. Nice ride Bro :D |
Hehe, most of the scaler guys choose muscle bound wrestlers or GI types to "drive" their trucks, I had to be bit different. I named my driver Bob Zombie and went with the theme a little further with custom made beadlock wheels with "Double Tap" on the rings (quote from Zombieland) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDJedaxA2eU

I was batteling a bump steer issue with all 3 axles, the #1-#2 were horrible where-as the 3rd wasn't bad at all. I reconfigured the linkages for #1 & #3 and the bump steer is nearly non existant now via bench testing. The 2nd axle I fabricated a entirely new mount due the old one rubbing the shock a little, this mount far exceeds the first design anyway. I'm now going to be putting everything back together for a test later today or during the week when time allows.
A big thanks to James/Lincpimp, his help made figuring out these issues a bit easier. :great: I made spacers to drop the servo down 15mm, made abig difference. http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...omounts010.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...omounts012.jpg The new servo mount http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...omounts006.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...omounts007.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...omounts009.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...omounts008.jpg Also have a short video of the this servo and mount in actionhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8T9EENrKvSY .................................................. ........................................... |
Ben taking some time to add a few things to chassis and cab and now working on assembly and getting everything wired back up.
Perscription Med's bottle fuel tanks http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...dowmesh002.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...dowmesh001.jpg Went for more of a Road Warrior vibe, was worried about the lexan windows getting knocked out so used this plastic garden border mesh.(8"x20' roll $6.00 @ Lowes) http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...dowmesh005.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...dowmesh004.jpg |
Bought 20' of the mesh and used up a whole 6"? You'll find more uses for it now that you have it I'm sure, haha.
Lookin good! I like the fuel tanks. |

http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...towhook001.jpg I built a tow rig that incoorperates the usage of the boom and winch to tow a crawler, please see pics and video attached. http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...towhook003.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...towhook002.jpg VIDEO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRg9MNl3IQw . |
Dude! That's just too cool!! It sucks to see Bob Zombie getting a tow but that works phenomenally!!
Thought about stiffer springs in the rear maybe? |
Hehe, Thanks Corey.
Ol Bob is pissed because he thinks he's getting repo'd. Thinking about springs also but really wanna drive it befor I decide to do next. |
Went for a scale run this AM and had a blast, A real nice spot with a great mix of everything from trails, gravel, sand, mud, creek, steep banks etc except rocks and all completely shaded. I was so into wanting to drive and test I completely forgot about the camera and HD recorder in the car, DOH. Luckily DontSlowDown/Chris had his Iphone and snapped a few pics, Thanks Buddy !

Great Job Bondo!
Reminds me a Lizard Lick Towing. "But.......But...........I PAID my Bill! You ain't taking my ride!" LOL  |
Come on!! No video!!!
Next time we better have some footage! Sounds like a cool spot to have some fun at!! |
Glad you got the steering figured out. I like that canted servo mount, really thinking "outside the box" there. Not like you have been "inside a box" in a while, at least since your last "lifestyle change". Lay off the estrogen, and maybe you can remember the camera next time you go scale wheelin'!!
|
@ Sikes; Thanks Bro, glad u like.
@ Corey; you'll live till next time. I was pretty dissapointed myself sorry. @ James; The servo/steering compliment is appreciated, I appreciate the help w/that. The rest of your comment; Go EAD. :na: Just charged one of the 3s packs from Sunday, I ran 1.25hrs with a 3200mah 3s 30C pack and the Hyperion charger said it still had 43% charge. Happy w/that ! |
