The Gorillamaxx G3R revo chassis (hurry up Gorillamaxx:)), slipperential, and these new diffs would make a SWEET setup!

jhautz 03.07.2007 12:41 AM

Ya-Hoooo! These can't come soon enough for me. I was just testing out a setup in my Revo last night and started to hear the dreaded clicking sound that always comes right before the rear diff goes. I have been holding off buying replacement diff parts (I usually have at least 1 set on hand) to rebuild it cuz I have been hoping for the 1/8 diffs to come out before i needed them.

I am really looking forward to these!

OMG, I havent completed my BL EMAXX and I am already making plans for a BL REVO....:035:

This diff case are so SWEEEEET:004:

Things of BEAUTY!!!

I've been so anxiously awaiting these that I almost don't know what to do now that they are finally here! They look really well done. (as if I expected anything less from Mike)

These just came in the mail today. I am dying to get into these and start assembling/installing them, but It looks like I'm not going to get to that until this weekend. Can't wait.

For now... Heres a couple pics.

Damn...those things look beautiful. I'll need mike to hook me up with some for sure. I wonder if the little nubs that let you use the stock sliders will work with OFNA torsen diffs?

jnev 03.22.2007 11:55 PM

Those thigns are incredable. They also make me want to make plans for an e-revo.

Now I know what I'm getting after the CRT.5 project is done! Wow, those diffs are nice. I haven't broken a diff yet, but I imagine it'll be any day now...

jhautz 03.23.2007 12:23 AM

A little update. I started building them. Ones done. These things go together very nice. Took two .25mm shims behind the pinon to get a perfect mesh.

Very nice workmanship IMO. :004:

GREAT JOB MIKE!

Heres a couple more pics.

Man, those look sweet! Nice pics.

I imagine these will change your overall reduction ratio compared to the stock diffs right?

BP-Revo 03.23.2007 12:46 AM

Yea...those look great...I wonder when they will be put onto the RCM store.

jnev 03.23.2007 01:15 AM

Like I said before, they look just awesome. Just one question, where did you get those .5mm shims? They are for the Hot Bodies diffs right? I ask because I will need the shims for my buggy to fit the Hot Bodies diff.

Thanks

Yea, they will change the gear ratio. These are the truggy gears in this set. Mike is making them with either the Buggy 13/43 or Truggy 10/43 gears in them. I got the truggy gears cuz I just got done installing a HB center diff like Dafni's old setup and I wanted to lower the overall ratio since I dont have the transmision gear reduction any more. This will let me run a better motor pinion range.

They are actually the shims I had for the maxx and revo diffs. The output shafts for the HB pinion is turned down to the same diameter as the standard revo pinion shaft. That allows you to use the stock revo drive shafts if you want. The shims are the 6x9x.5mm shims from Traxxas. So if you have shims around from your old revo or maxx diffs your all set.

BTW 2nd diff only needed one .5mm shim to mesh perfectly. Both are built now. I'm gonna break them in with a drill tomorrow night and then recheck the mesh before I install them.

EDIT: CORRECTION The shims I used are .25mm thick. So first diff took two .25mm shims and the 2nd diff took one .25mm shim. These are the ones i used. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDEA8&P=7 FUnky how the package is labled. Looks like it should be .5mm shims, but they actually measure .25mm.

2 built diffs. :018: :043:

No pinion bearings in the kit. They use the same ones as the stock revo diffs so you can steal from the old diff if you want. I had some new bearings sitting here already that would have been used in the stock revo diffs the next time I rebuilt them so I didnt even really think about it.

But yea, If you order the kit, make sure you have four 6x12x4mm bearings on hand, or like I said, you can just steal them out of the old diffs.

Mine are in the mail!

Can't wait to brag with some pics here.. LOL
