The batteries are the biggest deal right now...if those were cheaper I am sure we could build our own esc, or beef up a mamba for higher voltage.

wow, you shure have alot of land around you. id make huge jumps with all that room.

I think if anything the ESC and charger are the biggest issues. If you take a HV setup you don't need as large a capacity pack as a low voltage setup. For instance, a 4S4P 8000 mah pack versus a 12S1P 2000 mah pack. The 12S pack is 12 lipo cells versus 16 for the 4S pack. So it'll work out cheaper, lighter, and probably pack more punch.

But then you need atleast a 6S charger...

Its looking awesome CHC. It has got to be such a blast to drive. about what kind of speeds do you think you are hitting on that set up?

Edit: Oops - just found that you couldn't go full speed or run the whole battery.

I have an eagletree micro, it says it can do 45v, but not sure about 50+

Edtit: I found out the car version of the big eagle tree has expansion packs for 50v and 70 v, http://eagletreesystems.com/Car/car.html, you have to scroll down to see them, about 1/2 to 3/4 of the page

I think that should do fine if you wire it inline with only one of the packs. The current draw through one pack will be the same as the whole system, just the voltage will reflect as half. No biggie. :)

jhautz 01.29.2007 09:10 PM

Can you find a delrin spur for it? That might have a better chance of holding the power.

coolhandcountry 01.29.2007 09:23 PM

I was thinking of trying renes trick. Put two spurs on with an extra long pinion
from mike. Have twice the gear mesh. That should hold. Just need to make
sure gearing is where I want it. I am thinking of going 10s lipo so lighter to.
Maybe a little less power but can't run wide open now.

jhautz 01.29.2007 09:29 PM

on that 12s setup you need to be careful not to grab the wrong wire. You might electrocute yourself :005: Damn! 50V peaked packs. Thats a little unnecessary. But very Leroy.:D

coolhandcountry 01.29.2007 09:34 PM

Yeah It is a power house for sure. I think it may have more potential than i seen in the 2250 on 26. That was a power house to. I may try another spot with better ground and get a vid man on camera. See if can get a full speed all out run. :)

Sylvester 01.29.2007 10:03 PM

Yea, the 2250 on 26 is a lot of power, but a ton of weight, so it wont be anything compared to 12s on a 1950.

gixxer 01.29.2007 10:27 PM

wow that is fast, especially for such a big truck.

coolhandcountry 01.29.2007 11:11 PM

The 2250 was accually on a smaller lighter truck. I am running 1.4 kg of batts.
:D

Promod 01.29.2007 11:41 PM

What is the total weight of the truck?

Thank you,
Promod

cadima 01.31.2007 11:18 PM

hey country! First time viewing this thread. WOW! Wicked truck you have there. I'm pretty sure now you're insane, though. You definately got the sickness going on there. Good work.
