Well, I just wadded it up on a 8" iron drain that was sticking up about 6" out of the ground. :005: I took it to work today to show my bud with a stock emaxx what a real truck is, and caught this pipe which was hidden in a little grassy patch at around 30mph. It hit squarely on the left suspension, which immediately stopped the truck, broke the lower arm and treaked both tvps. LOL. Oh well. I picked up replacements on ebay, and I am in the process of tearing down again. :005:

dude you got to watch that stuff. Can't play long like that.

Yeah, no kidding. lol. All I can say is that I cringe to think what it would have done to my E-maxx. I'll have it running again next week. :027: Lesson learned. Don't go WOT across unfamiliar terrain. :005:

Well, I'm all back together again. I went ahead and installed my 17mm buggy style hex conversion kit, so I am waiting on my Savage X wheels/tires I bought off ebay. Hopefully, they will be here tomorrow. :027:

Your savage looks good! I really like all the custom parts!
Is the twin force tranny still holding up fine? Did you ever did a centerdiff conversion on your savage? What is the advantage of the twin force tranny over an center diff? Thanks! |
The twin force tranny is doing great. I haven't broken a thing in it all this time. I chose the twin force tranny because it is the toughest and simplest design of any tranny I have found. Also it is more suited to an electric conversion since it is for an electric truck. Therefore, there is no mechanical braking or one way to deal with like on nitro trannys. I don't like a center diff because it takes a lot of the fun out of running a monster truck because it virtually eliminates wheelies. I don't even like them on buggies. My hyper 7's is so tight with thick fluid, it barely gives. Center diffs are for racers so the chassis will stay planted and corner better. I am just a basher, so I either don't use them, or I lock them up.
