brushlessboy16 11.17.2008 04:59 PM

Wow! I just got my v3, its amazing geared 12/66 for 42 mph. with 45 degree weather nothing broke 100 degrees! I love it... 42 seems slow to me
I think i can use these tires on my new rims, but the foams are messed up.. truck bounces at wot..

12t Pinion is no longer- can be used as a shank now
Ordered a 13t Rcm hardened gear- that was shipped out from mike today.

In the mean time- i was running my 16t hardened and its fine on the steel spur. My MMM's fan has yet to come on. Got the motor up to 130* running out on the front lawn.. Can i tell you how much i adore DSM radios.. it was 31 degrees outside and i was sitting up in my room driving from the window.(kind of sucked when the truck flipped over down the street:no: )

I got to Weight the truck- little on the hefty side, 9lbs without batteres.

Going goo soo far

Lol.

Anyone know any good online store that sells Cen parts in europe? Need front suspension arms, mx009.

brushlessboy16 11.20.2008 01:06 PM

Not sure about europe...I know Tower hobbies ships internationally.

I think i have decided to go R/c racing at trax 70 in the 09 season. I think im in the clear, would only need a couple things
-servo
-more batteries(zippies most likely)
-Wheels and tires.
-faster charger

Also I just got my 4 dollar set of wheels from Killer hobbies , Also ordered 17mm hubs off ebay. now i just need some tires.

*my pinion and hubs should be home when I get there.* :yipi:

But on a more serious note, that really sucks about that suspension arm. Don't you know you aren't supposed to drive into things?!

brushlessboy16 11.23.2008 11:17 PM

Updated List

The ever-changing list.. Decided to go with 2 2s hardcased lipos incase my track converts over to ROAR rules or so that I can race at Roar sanctioned tracks.

2x Enerland PQ-5100RXP-2S Hard Case Car Pack- $200

Deans Male Ultra Plug (2)- $3

Jconcepts Rulux Half Ups- $20

2x Pro-Line LPR XTR Bowties

Trying to decide on a servo, the Ace 1313
# Transit time: 0.13 sec/deg @ 6V
# Torque: 12.5 kg/cm (173.6 oz/in) @ 6V

Or the Overkill servo- JR Z9100S

Torque: 150 oz/in @ 4.8V, 180 oz/in @ 6V
Speed: .08 sec / 60 degrees @ 4.8V, .06 sec / 60 degrees @ 6V:gasp:

Big price difference on the two. i like the speed though

Just a heads up, those battery packs arent listed on the ROAR website as approved as of now. So unless they get on that list they still wouldnt be allowed to race at an official ROAR event. Just dont want to see you spend the money on them and not get what you think you are getting. Here is a list of all ROAR approved batteries as of now. http://www.roarracing.com/approvals/lipobattery.php

brushlessboy16 11.24.2008 06:10 PM

Thanks Jhautz.

So why are they claiming that they are roar approved?

Truck is very dirty in the pics, will clean it later this week

Could be that they are approved, but the ROAR list isnt updated yet, or it could be that they arent and whoever is claiming they are isnt correct. I would do a little checking before buying if you truly need roar packs.

brushlessboy16 11.24.2008 06:23 PM

Alright, ill look into it

Jhautz do you happen to have any spare front arms for the matrix?

jhautz 11.24.2008 06:29 PM

No, I sent them with my Matrix when I sold it. Dont think I have any sitting around.

Krawlin 11.24.2008 10:21 PM

nice pics Ben!

Just wondering, but why don't you have the motor on the right side of the chassis and the battery on the left like most other conversions? Just seems like it would be a better setup, more room for the battery.

erm, cuz the original mount was on the left side of the chassis and i never had a reason to move it, and my battery placement is a whole lot closer to the centerline as is compared to it being outside the spur.
