Will MM still be produced? Or is this a direct replacement? Would be nice if I'd send my (probably) dead MM in and get this for let's say 70%

Which of the included motors is rated for 6s? What's the lowest kV?

That's a good idea. I'll talk to Lee about having an upgrade program for the MM.

nitrostarter 08.12.2009 10:33 AM

I was wondering the same, but no didn't ask since I don't have a MM, only MMM's. That would be a good program to run and could put out more products!

That would be great. I'm pretty sure I'd be all over that.

Sammus 08.12.2009 10:52 AM

+100 i have a practically new mm that i could ship out today

V0RT3X 08.12.2009 03:27 PM

Hope the deal goes through.

BTW, I meant 70$ there, not 70%(but since MMP is 130$ thats a bit close)

Me too!

suicideneil 08.12.2009 07:31 PM

And then there will be thousands of refurbished MMs for sale by Castle at knock-down prices :yipi:

Sounds like a good idea though, makes marketing sense since who can resist a new MMP to replace their MM, yet the offer of a cheap MM as a backup would also be alluring; I see lots of people buy escs and motors as they were cheap/ traded for, then they find a vehicle to put them in later down the line.

V0RT3X 08.14.2009 01:03 PM

Have you spoken with Lee yet? Still waiting for a sensored motor for a Slash. I found some Orion Vortex 2008 4.5T motors, are they any good?

ksb51rl 08.14.2009 10:25 PM

Interesting: asking about a Team Orion motor on a Castle Creations forum.

V0RT3X 08.15.2009 03:48 AM

Oops? Lol

RCZILLA 08.18.2009 01:28 AM

Does anyone have a size of this ESC? Looks pretty big. Can the fan be removed or will that void warranty? Only planning on using it in Losi xxx-4 on 2s lipo but wanting to run a sensor motor.

Sammus 08.18.2009 01:33 AM

I think I saw it written that the fan is designed to be removed. and I also go the impressions that the footprint is about the same as the mamba max.

The fan comes right off. I had to take it off to fit in my rb5 and just never put it back on.
That picture looks pretty much like my sc10. All covered in dirt but working great.

BrianG 08.18.2009 09:53 AM

The fan is removeable, but has little clips that are really designed to be removed once just to get the broken fan off. The size is actually a tad smaller than the MM, but a little taller because of the fan.

BrianG 08.18.2009 02:45 PM

So, does that mean it's ok to start posting pics and observations?

brushlessboy16 08.18.2009 03:10 PM

None better!

BrianG 08.18.2009 03:30 PM

lol, waiting for confirmation from the big PDC!

kvrc 08.18.2009 06:50 PM

it looks like 12 ga wire, can anyone confirm that?

suicideneil 08.18.2009 07:00 PM

Dunno, either 12 or 14g, but I dont believe that will cause current flow issues really, not like the esc is designed for high current stuff anyway, its a HV & low current draw thing more-over.

Metallover 08.18.2009 07:04 PM

Looks like 12awg from the picture.

nitrostarter 08.18.2009 07:31 PM

Go for it BG! I'm curious!

BrianG 08.18.2009 07:35 PM

I believe it's 13GA, just like the MM.

Patrick, any word from Lee on the MM upgrade plan?

YogyBrushless 08.23.2009 04:40 AM

why is the pro cheaper than the MM ? shouldnt the ability to run 6s make it more expensive ?

Better - - Cheaper -- Faster --

That's the game man.

The Mamba Max is a five year old design - - MM Pro uses new technology, new FETs, and has less hand labor to assemble. All that makes it less expensive.

Arct1k 08.23.2009 10:49 AM

Patrick - Any update on the upgrade programme? I have a MM in for a while as it was toast and I wondering if I could send some $'s or Pizza and it could come back as a pro? Thanks

PS Any change to the drag brake in brushed? Any way of making it stronger?

Mmmm pizza, or maybe deli....

The upgrade program (if we decide to do it) will be discussed in the next marketing meeting. I'll let you know as soon as we decide.

Last I heard, the first run of MMP is scheduled for run the week of Aug 31st.

emaxxnitro 08.23.2009 11:16 AM
