GorillaMaxx360 04.02.2007 04:50 PM

i am over all disapionted on thne pricing becuase i believe if there is a weekness to a product they should fix it and sell it for the same (like the bottom plate). I see there reasoning for the price increase but i think that is too much for people at once. I am glad i bought my skids a while a go becuase now i could not buy them unless i got the whole chassis. Seeing these new products i am glad i bought me flm chassis. Over all though the products are nice. But i am really hoping not for my sake but for you revo guys the revo kit does not jump up another 100+ bucks because this will drive more people away from the brushless revo conversions.

-BTW- IMO the website is much cheaser than it useto be does anybody agree with me on this

Sylvester 04.02.2007 04:51 PM

Yea, i was just saying that you dont literally get candy back from the person you help ;)

Helping people is why im on these forums, other than sharing my experiences with others and just having fun!:)

I agree about the site. It was cooler before. Also, i do think that seperate parts will be sold as well. At least, he used sell individual parts.

RCShocker 04.02.2007 05:01 PM

Yeah, all the wanting and waiting, for what?

Quite a let down. I thought something exciting might be happening.

I will still get the GMaxx parts I need. Just nothing really spectacular happening at the "new" site after the long wait. Bummer :035:

suicideneil 04.02.2007 05:22 PM

You just might be! Congrats!

suicideneil 04.02.2007 05:48 PM

You must die, I alone am best! So, I had the most unique, and expensive, TXT-1 in the country, and now I have one of the coolest E-maxxes too. Only a hand full of people have one as nice as mine, like Candyman's Maxxbling. Modesty?, what's that?....

sjcrss 04.02.2007 05:58 PM

listening to a little of the bloodhound gang eh.....lol..."You must die, I alone am best!"

suicideneil 04.02.2007 06:02 PM

Damn straight, I love their music. Though when I do my next video I will have the 2001 remix of the Wurzels hit "Combine harvester" as a backing track..... proper-job.

HotnCold 04.02.2007 06:26 PM

I believe that this HUGE increase was just not thought about enough.... Its a shame - I think that with that big jump in cost for the g2r - its right in the ballpark with the UE supermaxx - thats just my opinion... Maybe nobody will notice the increase.... Wonder where i could get those super $15.00 screwed, i mean screws :p

zeropointbug 04.02.2007 06:47 PM

Which version is better for bashing then, the CF version, or the aluminum one?

IMO, neither if it's a Maxx. I won't mention the brand in this forum since this a GMaxx area, but another brand Mike carries is much more suited to bashing and much more affordable and comes with a better warranty too.

jnev 04.02.2007 07:14 PM

I personally like the old site better, but the new parts are awesome. Really makes me want to build a new e-maxx or revo, once the chassis for it comes out. Although, the prices did surprise me a little.

zeropointbug 04.02.2007 08:32 PM

Mike is selling the G3 for $185 !!!

I am so happy, Mike is a good guy! :027: :017:

Sylvester 04.02.2007 08:36 PM

Im sure he'll update that... :p

zeropointbug 04.02.2007 08:46 PM

:010: no

Wouldn't that be a brand new product article? I SURE hope so! :002:

It's really not. Just 100% off. :005:

zeropointbug 04.03.2007 12:13 AM

my guess is 40% ? :030:

squeeforever 04.03.2007 12:17 AM

I wish...

zeropointbug 04.03.2007 02:38 AM

So would you know if that is the final price then for the G3 chassis?

I really don't like how they made it all ONE!? I already have the center CV's, and skids, that's $100 there that is wasted for... well, i suppose those skids won't last too long, so that's not so bad. But, the CV's, why? Seriously, make that X-Brace BEEFIER!!! :032:

Serum 04.03.2007 11:31 AM

Don't know if you missed the price on their site? that gives a pretty good idea of what the price is like..

Remember; the new chassis includes
-skids (and me and squee have got a whole other idea of integral, i wasn't aware integral meant 'in the package')
-extension
-dogbones/cups

CV's.. why not? it seems to be a logical upgrade to the 3.3 shafts. I personally don't like tupperware in the center..

The price of the motorplate is pathetic though...

I agree Serum. But even though the kti includes skids, etc. I personally would not use aluminum skids. I think that there should be a seperate package deal to accoomodate for those who have no need for all that is offered. Then again, you sell it off, but that can be a hastle as well at times.

suicideneil 04.03.2007 05:08 PM

Integral skids.... I had the same thought. Anyway, once they start selling spares on the Gmaxx site it will be possible for people to upgrade just the X-braces & bottom plate, so that solves that problem. But the motor mount- is it just me or does this mean they no-longer sell the X-brace motor mount? Dont see it anywhere on the new site. If people want they can Paypal me $20 and their stock motor mount and I'll mod it to be like mine.....

neweuser 04.03.2007 05:42 PM

Yeah, the new motor mount on the site looks like a modded stocker, and I don't think the X-Braces have been upgraded from what the pics look like!

squeeforever 04.03.2007 06:36 PM

I don't know, perhaps he found it easier to just make the plates thicker. It basically does the same thing. Thicker plates or thicker x-braces; there both gonna make it stronger, but only one is probably needed. Anywho, they do sell the spairs actually. I noticed that earlier today.

Nick 04.04.2007 05:10 PM

I'm really happy the plates are finally thicker on the GorillaMaxx. Think I will get one for my new Maxx I'm doing.

Argh, why have they changed the mount, it's not adjustable anymore... hmm.

Sylvester 04.04.2007 05:23 PM

The motor mount isnt bad, but the price is horrid.

Nick 04.04.2007 05:35 PM

Yikes didn't see the price. I really think the mount is a step backwards. You can't adjust it as much and you can't mount twin motors.

I could hack up a stock one to look like that for about £5.

zeropointbug 04.04.2007 05:45 PM

I agree, the motor mount now looks like a stocker, with half cut off. They should have made it the exact same as before, except mount it to the transmission case, IMO.

I just want to get my truck project running, spring is here and i am eager to play with it. There is one thing i don't like about the FLM chassis, the battery mounts. I could mount underneath, but my packs would take a beating.

Dafni 04.04.2007 06:16 PM

The x-braces are also stronger, because they no longer have the milled slots on the underside.

zeropointbug 04.04.2007 07:10 PM

How do you know that about the milled slots Dafni?

Is the FLM chassis compatible with the RC-Monster extended center CVD's?

coolhandcountry 04.04.2007 07:14 PM

I never had a problem with that part of the braces bending. I had the problem
of right in front of the transmission mounting spot. It is designed like a y
and that y allows it to bend easily. I think it will suffer from same weak spot.

The FLM chassis includes an extended CVD for the rear. You can use a regular MIP center CVD in the front.

Thanks.

Also, one of the drawbacks of the FLM is because i have to mount my A123 packs underneath, it will be the lowest part of the truck, probably ruining them. Plus the higher CG from batts, and higher motor, and the heaviest part of the chassis being up high.

This sucks, there is no chassis out there that is good enough/cheap enough. The G3 is my best bet, but it's just the extra $100 i'll spend, I'm running low right now as far as budget. Maybe i'll just wait until the snow is completely gone, and then purchase.

If you're planning on racing, just do the G3. If you only bash, why are you worried about the CG? IMO, the FLM chassis keeps the Maxx a monster truck, whereas the G3 chassis brings it a bit closer to being a truggy.

zeropointbug 04.04.2007 11:28 PM

That's what i want, something like a truggy. Just because i don't race, doesn't mean i can't benefit from much lower CG. I hate how the truck will jump up on 3 wheels not going very fast. And the lower plate makes it look very nice.

suicideneil 04.07.2007 02:33 PM

Have you considered a race-bomb chassis? Its half way between an FLM and G2/3 type chassis, not sure of the price though.

Superemaxx89 04.08.2007 06:15 PM

What ever happened to the idea of weight savings? Now that the chassis are thicker, the motor mounts are heavier (than previous gen gorillamaxx motor mount), less milled slots...I can only imagine the weight gain on these chassis pushes this new Generation of gmaxx wall past the weight of stock.

coolhandcountry 04.08.2007 06:22 PM

I don't think they are going to be much stornger either. That is the bad thing.
