The LED calculator (nice feature) didn't like the 300mA current of these LED's I was thinking of buying to make some homemade flashlights for my kids:

Yeah, the calc has a built-in limit of 99mA. This is to prevent people from thinking "well, I'll just dump more current to make my LED brighter" which would quickly destroy their LEDs (or reduce their life drastically) and then they'd blame me :smile:. TBH, even 99mA is quite high for the typical LED used for R/C lights, which usually have values in the 25mA range.
But, at the bottom of the page ("Other Useful LED Information"), the formulas that the calc uses are listed. Just pick the right one for your application. |

Seriously, it should work. Haven't touched the site in a loooong time. Not nearly as much traffic as it used to have. Seems like R/C has become less popular in general, and most companies have systems pre-built so not nearly as much call for conversions and the calculations they entail. |

Tekin has a 2000Kv and a 2250Kv truggy sized motor - not sure why it shows as 2100?

I was doing calculations for my Losi 2.0 buggy, which BTW is not supported in the f/r diff department. But I know what the ratio is.13/43. I just picked up a Tekin t8 4038 truggy 2000kv and was trying to pick out a pinion, when I noticed on the calculator that the tekin 2000kv calculates not at 2000 but at 2100. I was wondering if after some testing if BrianG or anyone else really discovered that the wind is really 2100. I used a 15t pinion and ran the buggy last night and its perfect.
Thanks for the calculator, I've been using it for years! It would be cool if the lists were updated a little bit. |
It is more likely a typo than an adjustment to the posted Kv. I normally manually enter motor Kv when I use the tool, along with battery voltage. :)

I use it also, very helpfull for gearing etc!
