So, in a 4S 1/8 buggy, I can use the Pro as a back-up to the MMM? Is the pro better than MMM? Can it run T8 motors in hybrid mode?

Sammus 07.06.2009 11:19 AM

From what I've read, the Max Pro is like a regular max, but has a built in switching bec, can handle 6s and sensored motors.

Since you're running 4S, it's just as much of a backup as a Mamba Max with a bec would be - the same esc setup most people used pre-MMM

The pro can run sensored motors, but the MMM can handle more power. Whether it's better or not depends what you're using it for.

I can't see why it wouldnt. There were scores of people running them through the MM in conversions before the MMM came out, and Max pro is just a beefed up MM from what I can tell.

What do you mean "to what extent" It either runs them or it doesn't...

PS.. all these initialisations are getting annoying... technically the MMM is a 'mamba monster' - there is no 'max' on the end. But we can't write MM because thats the mamba max. Now we have a mamba max pro, but there is also a mamba micro pro... ahh the confusion.

Could just abreviate them as follows

Mamaba max =MM
Mamba max micro =MMu
Mamba max monster =MMM
Mamba max pro =MMP or MM+

Couple of questions for Patrick?

Whats the FET count on the MMP vs the MM / MMM?

Does it use the same FETs as the MM or MMM or a super new secret version from california?

Cheers

NoControl 07.06.2009 11:33 PM

I'm not pat but I'd guess they are the same as the MMM to be able to run 6s

Well, since the cat will be out of the bag soon anyway---

The FET count is 18, and we are using a new super-secret MOSFET (which hasn't even been released yet...) It's from Arizona though, not California. (hint, hint)

MM has 30 FETs, but power handling on the MMP will be better than the MM (better FETs, better heatsink, add fan.)

MMM has 36 FETs, and power handling is a better on the MMM due to size of the heat sink and fan.

Hoping to beat that date... But you know how it goes in manufacturing.

Sweet! I'm really excited now!

Metallover 07.07.2009 01:07 AM

Pardon me if it's already been mentioned, but will there be new sensored motors coming out? With a design similar to neu? 4 pole?

Can't comment on that.

Metallover 07.07.2009 01:32 AM

understood. Make sure to let us know when the time comes though.... It's not like you can expect us to use novak motors!

*cough* Tekin *cough*

August release date is awesome! I wasn't really expecting them to be out until late this year or early next year.

Any chance of some of these superFETs making their way into the MM? Keep all the same ratings and what not but use fewer FETs to possibly bump up the efficiency a bit?
