What's your setup like? 4s or 6s on 2650kv motor? What's the temp for motor n esc? How long was the race?

I think it's overamp.

First runtime was on 5S Hyperion 45 lipo, smoke came out during the second runtime on Hyperion 6S 45C lipo. On V3 MMM I had no problem at all, so it's very confused why the new version of MMM smoked out:neutral:

Did u use 5s n 6s on 2650kv motor?

BMW318TI 03.20.2011 06:10 AM

Yup 5s and 6s:-).
I have also 4S but's tooo sloowwwww.

superek4 03.20.2011 06:27 AM

I think u need to go drag racing not track racing, 4s with 2650kv is already over kill. I use 2700kv with 3s for races.

It's not how fast u can go it's how well u control ur car.

I think castle will be pissed if u tell them u use 5-6s on 2650kv it's only for 4s. The amp drawn killed the esc.

Ur speed n rpm is too much. No body races with this setup

BMW318TI 03.20.2011 07:19 AM

Yup you are right!
But MMM can handle 6S and also the motor can handle 6S.
So I am within the limit hahaha:-)

superek4 03.20.2011 07:32 AM

Read the spec of 2650kv motor it's 4s not 6s. It's written on castle website.

superek4 03.20.2011 07:34 AM

2200kv is intended for 6s but it's not drivable in a race. If u are a basher anything goes! Just prepare deep pockets!

BMW318TI 03.20.2011 01:01 PM

Yup you are right!:yipi:
2650 is intend for 6S, but it can handle 6S:lol:
I had the 2200KV motor, but it was too slow on 6S:lol: so I sold it.

alport 03.21.2011 04:33 AM

Higher kv dosen't means allways higher speed. 2200kv motor is bigger , and has much power than 2650kv. You can gear it much higher than 2650kv.

BMW318TI 03.21.2011 07:16 AM

Yup you are right, but the 2200KV has too much torque.
So the 2650KV is more suitable for me at higher speed.
