How many amps will the 1410 pull compared to a 1512/2d in a Mugen MBX6 Eco.
The 1410 will run 3s and the 1512/2d will run 4s both setups will run with a MMP.The buggy weights about 6lbs.

As much wood as a woodchuck could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

hi there

i am planing to buy the sct mmpro combo for my 1:8er electric buggy

i driving now 2 years the mmpro esc in my 1:8 electric cars with no issue

the new SCT motor, 1415 2400 has a 3,17mm shaft. i dont know if this tiny shaft will break in the 1:8.

i was planing to buy a NEU 1415 1y engine. but this new castle creations combo has all in one. the good esc and a NEU 1415, but hte version with 3,17mm shaft. there is no problem to buy a pinion Modul 1 for 3,17mm. but i dont know if the shaft will break in a 1:8 vehicel

So long as you use mechanical brakes and don't get any stones in the pinion/spur interface, you might be OK. But I think you are lilely to snap the 1/8" shaft clean off if you use it with electric motor brakes on a 1/8th buggy.

The good news is that Castle is supposed to be working on 5MM shaft rotors for the SCT motors, so when you snap your 1/8" shaft, you will be able to buy a 5MM shaft.

I looked at that combo for my RC8Be but the 3.17mm shaft to me I thought would last a week or two! For the extra cost, it was simply a better option to get a MMM / 2200 Combo and be doubly sure. (Took the MMM and put it in my SC8e as that's heavier, running the MMP on the RC8Be and seems fine)

i dont like the mamba monster controller and this to heavy engines

I snapped a few hacker 1/8 shafts in 8th scale buggies back in the day. 5mm shaft is mandatory unless you have a slipper setup. Even then, it is just good sense.

I ran the SCT Pro Kit today in my RC8 to SC10 4WD conversion
Man, this motor is insane !
20 min runtime with about 4800mA

Motor Temp was about 45 degrees no cooling
MMP was about the same.

Gearing was 50/15

But i will stay on my Tenshock based 3S Setup i don't need that much power.
The only thing i don't like on the 1415, is the massiv Rast of the roter.
It is not as much as on the 2650KV CC Motor, but about 80% as on the Tenshock.

I hope to get my "real" SC10 4x4 soon and test the SCT Pro on 3S there ...

We are currently looking into getting a 5mm rotor "upgrade" put together for the 1410 and 1415. We will most likely not have a 5mm version of those motors in the near future, but the upgrade rotor shouldn't take long to get. It was brought up in the last tech support/engineering meeting and everyone was in agreement to move forward.

The earliest I would expect to see anything hit the market would be 6-8 weeks (in a perfect world). I'm going to keep on top of this project and make sure it doesn't get stalled. It really is fairly simple for us to produce, we just skip the step where they machine down the output shaft to 3mm. We also need to get artwork and packaging put together, but that's fairly easy as well. I will post any pertinent updates as they become available. Thanks!

So.... How are the 5mm rotors coming along?????

kingdomracer 03.24.2011 06:06 PM

Yea, can we get an update on those 5mm rotors

kingdomracer 03.25.2011 09:42 PM

Finally ran my 1410 today and it didn't last with a Tekno Traktion clutch, shaft snapped in less than a minute in a Ten-SCTE.
Really need a 5mm shaft bad!

Not surprised it didn't even make it a whole minute.

Castle: Pretty Please: give us those option rotors.

How about a 1415 .5Y? That would be about 4800Kv.

Thanx!

Patrick

I would take one 100%
After seeing the 1410 1Y throwing around my RC8 to SC10 4x4 Conversion, I would love to have one, but please with 5mm shaft

@ Mr. Pat or Thomas, Any updates on the 5mm shaft for these motors ?

Thomas Porfert 04.25.2011 01:30 PM

5mm rotor "rebuild kits" are currently on order, hopefully we'll have some in May; but no exact date yet. We'll have the rebuild kits with the 1/8" shaft at the same time.

As far as the 1415/.5Y goes, we did receive a limited number of prototypes and the initial testing looks good. We do need some real world testing though.

I have one prototype left and looking for a good home. It would need to be mounted in a Losi short course, or similarly heavy short course truck on a 2s Lipo on a large outdoor track, preferably an 8th scale track. It has a 5mm output shaft so it would work very well on the new Losi short course. I only have one though so it needs to be for this specific setup. Thanks!
