It was terrible, Serum! I felt like a weirdo standing alone outside the women's changing room holding a couple of dresses. I kept telling all the ladies who passed by that my wife was inside trying on dresses. I'm sure all you married guys can sympathize.

Can you tell me how much weight an electric savage, with a Neu 1515 and and a 4s or 5s li-po will be??? An aproximation.....

And is my 1515 1Y, MGM 16018 and a 4s will be enough to have a decent power in a Savage?????

My XSS is suppose to arrived this week and i,am thinking to converti it with my brushless revo stock, and put the K4.6 stock savage engine back in my revo.
I want to have a more reliable tranny and diffs and i think that the Savage XSS diffs and tranny are stronger than revo ones.

I dont think I could do 6s.... I would just want to run 5s, what MGM fits that bill? Maybe 6s if the MGM can do it, I dont want the most expensive one, just something for 5s really....... But then again, a savvy on 6s must be nuts!

Id love to do a savvy with a 1521, and that motor must run ice cold!

Hey David,

I just oredered a ss kit and mikes chassis too. Not sure what they will weight, but I plan to run a 9xl, quark 125 and 5s 6000mah lipo. This is kind of a low spec setup (for me!), but I may step up to the kb45 10l or the kb 8xl that I have laying around. I will have to build a custom motor mount for the kb, but it should be worth it.

David, I am going to run a neu 1515 1/y on 4s in my savage with the 3 speed. Mine should weigh about 12lbs at a guess. I pretty sure that the 1515 1/y will stay cool, geared for 60mph in my revo(only radar-ed in at 55mph) it never got over 130*f, cant say the same for the batteries though!

My chassis should be here tomorrow, I cant wait!!!!!!

Damn, you guys better leave a chassis for me :yes:. Mike says he has heaps though. I can't wait to get mine. What are people going to be running in the way of pinions? Note that there are 47t 49t and 52t spurs available.

I know that the savage diffs is suppose to be stronger than the revo, but for the tranny itself, do you think that savage trany is more durable than revo one?

From what my buddy at the lhs tells me the only thing that breaks on a savage is the reverse (gears and actuator?) and the shock shafts will bend with a hard hit. I guess since they are so long, they bend easier than other types. Other than that the new shimmed diffs and other mods make the new savage the best one yet.

I have never had any problems with my savage tranny. I have a metal gear 3 speed though. Only 1st gear is plastic but the whole thing looks brand new after a lot of abuse. The plastic second in the 2 speed I have heard can strip but that is probably due to the slipper being set too tight. Second engages pretty hard and the slipper I think needs to have a bit of give for this especially with a big torquey brushless motor.

Good to know Tim, I want to leave the stock ss kit 2 speed if at all possible. I will set the slipper slightly loose. I killed the shift clutch? in my revo, it used to shift really hard into second, and then stopped. I rebuilt the tranny with a wide ratio gearset and a new shift clutch. I have not had a chance to test it yet, but I will set the slipper looser now, and see if it helps.

I really want to do a savvy, I sure wish I had some $$$

But more people are using the 2/3 speed then I thought, I think it would be fun to have a BL sav with a 3sp, watching it really lurch forward when it shifts would be funny!

The trick is to set the slipper still tight enough that it doesn't melt as well. I almost melted mine when I put my LRP .28 in. I would set it just a 1/4 of a turn back from tight and just check that it is not getting too hot.

You are really tempting me with this conversion. I've always been a little unsatisfied with my homemade conversion because the battery trays are outside the TVP & looks ugly. This is surely more elegant & pretty. OK I'm in. Hi Mike, gonna have to shoot u an email !

Damn this kit looks VERY nice!!!

I think it's just what my savage needs that has been sitting for 2+ years now....

Just not sure on what motor. Either go for a elcheapo Ammo Great Plains 1800 or 2600 motor with MM or get a 8XL or 9XL...
