Hi Mike,
it's been about 6 months since you wrote a product update. How far are you with the kit? Any updates will be appreciated.

How would dual kb45 xl's do in a 5b..

700kv and 10s sounds decent.

It would probably work, but if you want a whole lot of speed they're going to run hot. What kind of peak power output do those have? I'm guessing 1,500 watts, so two of them should be OK if you are careful with your gearing.

My question is how would you make them & all the lipos required fit? They aint small motors...

very creative motor plate that i have all done up in cad.

10s 5000mah 30c?
or do I need more?

In theory that should be fine (5s for each motor/esc), but the KB motors are amp hogs from what I gather, so an eagletree would definately be advisable to keep an eye on voltage drop under load..

Sorry it has been so long - I have my baja torn apart as I rework the conversion(I am never satisfied it seems). The updated kit will be pretty sexy and hopefully worth the wait - I should have the new kit installed and running in about a week. Hopefully the kits will be ready within a couple weeks.

7hp potential in those lipos. Should be ok. What escs do you plan to use? I still have the 12s capable escs that I was going to use with the baja, not sure what to do with them! Maybe run a dual motor 1521 setup in a stretched savage?

Turnigy HV's

Shoud turn out well on 10s.

I just learned that you can buy 5b rollers(clones) on ebay for 399.

Pretty sure those are the same escs I have. Something like 120 each??? Anyways, sounds like a fun project, but I have found used hpi bajas rtr for 400 bucks...
