It would need to be mounted in a Losi short course, or similarly heavy short course truck on a 2s Lipo on a large outdoor track, preferably an 8th scale track. It has a 5mm output shaft so it would work very well on the new Losi short course. I only have one though so it needs to be for this specific setup. Thanks!

You have a PM sir !
I have a large track that I visit regularly as well.

Thomas, if you want a "similarly heavy short course truck"
My RC8 to SC10 4x4 conversion would be perfect

It is about 7 lbs incl. a single 2S Lipo

Just had another testday
max temp was 75 degree C without fan and about 35 degrees C ambiente

I love this motor....

Well, we kind of wanted to test this on a short course truck since that what is designed and intended for. It would probably work in a 1/8th on a conservative setup, but that won't be the intended market. We want to hit the racers on bigger tracks that are required to run 2s and where the 1410/1Y will overheat and the 1415/1Y won't produce enough speed on 2s.

Well thats want I do...
my Car is 2S only and the org. Sc10 4x4 is not much heavier

I though to have two different tracks would be an good idea.

anyway
I wait for the release

Thomas you have PM.

Any pricing on the 1410 rebuild kits w/ the 5mm shafts? Really looking forward to getting my hands n one of these.

If this were 3 weeks from now I would volunteer to test your 1415 .5 motor in my SCTE. But the big outdoor track wont open for a few weeks. The 1410 is a killer little motor. The little motor can dish out more power than my poor Maxamps 150C (:rofl::rofl::sarcastic:) 2s pack can deliver. The motor hasn't overheated on the fairly large indoor track I run at, but the Lipos sure do start to sag after a couple minutes of race time when trying to clear the big double/triple. You can just feel how much less punch they have a few minutes into the race vs what they were when they were fresh charged. But the little 1410 motor just keeps dishing out as much power as the battery can deliver.

@ Castle Team,

any news on the 1415/.5Y ?
Would still love to buy one
Or this there maybe a 1412 in the 4000KV range ....

outlaw 04.05.2012 03:09 PM

question

I'm about to order a Neu 1415 .5Y

or does it make to wait for the Castle green flavor 1415 .5Y ?

I like to have the "green" one since they have flexible wires

Castle staff ?????

Thomas Porfert 04.05.2012 04:44 PM

It doesn't look like the 1415/.5Y Castle-Neu motor will happen. It worked well in limited beta testing, but you had to be very VERY careful with gearing. When we release stuff to the public it can't be so close to the edge that you only have 2 or 3 tooth choices on gearing.

That motor worked very well if you knew what you were doing and how to gear the vehicle; but unfortunately not everyone knows how gearing works and with stock gearing from most vehicles the motor would overheat.

thx thomas for the update

so the 1415 .5y is even more sensitive than the 1410 1Y

On my 6.6 lbs SC truck the 1410 1Y does a great job on a MMM V5 geared for 32 mph
temps are around 50-60 degrees after 15min with a 6000mAh pack

one tooth more and the temps go up to 80+ degrees

but sometimes i like to have more rpm per volt to get a better rollout
the 4800KV would give me 1.02:1
with the 1410 1Y i have 1.22:1

anyway was hoping to have one of those, but too sensitive is not good for noops

thx again

You actually need a 1415 for a 4x4 SC?!?! Why not a 1409 1.5D (4500kv)? Basically the same size of motor as the 1410. Heck, I use 1509's in my 1/8th scale buggies (lower kv of course). I even have a 1409 1.5D that I could let go of, if you are interested.

Well the only reason for the 1415 .5Y was the Y winding
I would run the motor with torque control propperly set to 5 or below
I don't need the power but I like to have a Y wind motor...

I have a local dealer in germany that does sale Neu Motors, but the 1409 1.5D is not in stock since a long time. but the price used to be great 185$ incl. shipping

PN me about the 1409 maybe we can work something out ...
How long are the cables ?

nativepaul 04.06.2012 05:08 AM

Who sells Neu motors in Germany? Buying from Castle in the USofA is rather expensive, and buying direct is impossible these days.

outlaw 04.06.2012 05:46 AM

IN-Racing.de does have a good selection in stock
This the only shop for Neu in germany

outlaw 04.10.2012 08:07 AM

thanks to bruce letting his 1409 1.5d go
can't wait to have the motor here
