Not surprised, but still disappointed.

This is crazy :gasp:. Didn't they say it's done and they are waiting for plastic and a few other stuff?

Arct1k 03.14.2008 03:43 PM

Are you sure this wasn't least years note? LOL

BrianG 03.14.2008 03:45 PM

Words fail me...

skellyo 03.14.2008 03:51 PM

They must be politicians 'cause they're damn good at routinely lying to us.

Sower 03.14.2008 03:54 PM

Wow. Depressing.

Arct1k 03.14.2008 03:55 PM

Guys it ties into releasing it at http://rcx.com/ME2/dirmod.asp?sid=BF...7D659908C73F25

and then 2-3 weeks to get it to public...

Sower 03.14.2008 04:00 PM

Probably true. Not cool Friday news.

BrianG 03.14.2008 04:11 PM

It would be nice if they could at least put up some pictures, specs, etc up at their site so we can all drool...

DrKnow65 03.14.2008 04:11 PM

"Rabitt out of the hat" 12S version may be taking a bit longer than expected (very very wishfull thinking).

Who knows, it's possible..............

Sower 03.14.2008 04:13 PM

No way, I just looked out my window and a pig went flying by.

Same thing they said at iHobby show in October 07 Not really shocking.

I say we start a pool. Everyone throw in a buck to pick a date that you think will be the actual release date. If you guess right, you get the money.

I'm picking first.... December 19th, 2008. Just in time for Xmas.

Edit: Either that or they just read this thread and realized that they only had 4s cutoff voltages in the software so now they had to rewrite it all. Arkt1c.......

Arct1k 03.14.2008 04:36 PM

:bad: Sorry! I can fix it for them :)

Easy software change i think... Not sure about the HW end though...

I'm pretty sure they use the same chip on most controllers so should be able to add the extra entry using the memory map from another controller...

Oh god! now look what you've done you'll get me into trouble again!

We will be old a grey when that day comes. We might be old and grey when the 6s version finally comes.

If one goes to rcgroups in the Castle thread, they are talking about the advantages of HV. If the MMM would've been HV, Castle would be ahead of the Euro giants.

Cloak 03.14.2008 10:41 PM

No big suprise, we've been promised dates before. This waiting game is nothing new.

glassdoctor 03.14.2008 11:04 PM

I did say a while back that the earliest we should expect anything was mid-april and that was if things went as planned. They admitted that the motors were not done and they didn't have the boards yet.

This pretty much nails the "wait till after the 25% off sale" theory, LOL

I'll give them until the end of April before giving them another wedgie...

Every time this thread is updated, I get my hopes up, only to have them dashed again.

Electric Dave 03.15.2008 08:43 AM

Why is all this news taking place on forums other than this one? There are 21 pages of ideal, target market customers here. Anyway this latest news is awful. I'm sure like many folks right about now I take my RC goodies out from their winter slumber and get them all ready for the upcoming racing season. In years past my local track starts racing in April and I had hoped to have MMM enabled vehicles ready by then. Once I have something in my truck I'll run it till the smoke gets out I'm sure lots of folks are the same way. If the MMM is delayed, it will lessen the impact it can have, lower sales, shame.

team3six 03.15.2008 10:45 AM

I my self am really really upset as well. Money in hand ready to drop on the system and still I wait, and wait, and wait. I had talked personally in the past months to Joe and Bernie and had no problem finding out the info about the MMM in conversation. Joe was even kind enough to come on here and speak to everyone about this release and dynamics. But once again here we are even after appreciation was sent to the guys for thier efforts. Waiting for the World Premier release of something that will only be made available when they want to release it. Now I cant say all bad things about Castle, But I gotta kinda believe that 50% of the hold back limit is true, Including when I have emailed them 3 times about this with no responce and I can not get through with a phone call.

What gets me is they are intentionaly holding back for a trade show when just about everyone whom this is geared for is either on here on RC Monster, or on Nitrokillers. Im sorry Joe and gang, but us faithfull Castle guys are getting tierd of the lies and put off dates just so you can show off your work at a trade show that you cant even buy it at!

If anything us guys who have been waiting in the dark putting up with this should get something for our patience.

glassdoctor 03.15.2008 10:50 AM

I can't believe they would delay it further at this point, just to have it at a trade show first.

That would make sense if it were a surprise product... or something that was ahead of schedule. But there's no way they continue the pain for their customer base... intentionally.

Dagger Thrasher 03.15.2008 11:22 AM

Man, this is just ridiculous. I don't believe for a second that it's deliberate... but what Castle need to do is stop giving us "hopefully" dates and give us a solid, definite, worst-case-scenario-will-be-out-by-then date. I just don't know what else to say.

hootie7159 03.15.2008 02:40 PM

well, that sucks :diablo:....BUT I'M STILL GOING TO BUY ONE!!!! :yipi:

E-Revonut 03.15.2008 03:04 PM

Last week my lhs was asking me about my Novak HV setup because they want to have something to offer people until the MMM comes out, which the owner heard might not be until August! :-(

captain harlock 03.15.2008 04:17 PM

Nay, six weeks is MUCH better than six years.

suicideneil 03.15.2008 05:20 PM

Boned. Oh well, at least I can continue putting pennies into a jar to pay for it, rather than sucking my bank account dry....

ssspconcepts 03.15.2008 09:42 PM

Well, I am going to buy another MGM. I know some have had problems with them but I can't say that I have...so it is MGM for me.

glassdoctor 03.15.2008 11:06 PM

:diablo:

Well, if anyone else is going to bail and get something else, I do have a 125B for sale. I ran it only once: last summer one day when BrianG was at the track. I should have just left it in the box.

Me too. I keep waiting to see a post. "It is out!"

I moved on long ago. I got tired of waiting. Now I am going to read ya'lls reviews and posts about it first. I might get one next year some time.

DrKnow65 03.16.2008 10:29 AM

So who's got the flame emotocon? just a post of flames across the bottom would be expected about now...

At this point I woudn't believe that if they told me. They have completely lost all credibility in my mind.

CC really needs to figure out how to manage a project. I would have lost my job LONG ago if i had all these dates come and go on a high profile project and still had nothing delivered.

jnev 03.16.2008 10:52 PM

All I can hope for now is that it will be out by my birthday in July... Lets hope for the best.

hobbimaster 03.17.2008 09:03 PM

Well its not just CC either, it seems all electronics manufactures these days say one thing referring to release dates, and then do not provide the goods as expected. I'm not sure if its arrogance, structure, or just lack of commitment. Things do happen, but come on, pick a date a year or so off from official release date and if it comes out early then you've made people very happy, if its close to the date given, well, thats ok too. Just dont tease us with pics and spy video (Tekin/MMM) at the hobby shows and web sights. I just dont get how the MMM got pushed back, to what has it been 3yrs now since official announcement and then this little sidewinder pops out of nowhere (I do own 2), That just shows me CC's priority level. At this point I think we all should email CC into oblivian if its not out within the next month "expected" release of April-May! :diablo:

E-Revonut 03.17.2008 09:12 PM

Well I agree with most of what you said! But keep in mind that although CC is a big company in RC they really are still a relatively small company. If everyone starts e-mailing them it will take more time to deal with all the e-mails which will either pull someone away that could be doing something useful to getting the MMM out asap or they'll have to hire an extra person to deal with them which could only increase the MSRP when it is actually released! I am part of a mid sized company like CC, although not the same field, and I have been part of a small company....From what I have heard CC is having problems with suppliers of the parts they need, therefor CC is not soley to blame. After all this said, I do believe they should give a realistic date or they should have kept things under tighter wrap until it was ready!!!

glassdoctor 03.17.2008 09:53 PM

Now it's up to 3 yrs waiting? :sarcastic:
