I have also thought about a truggy conversion (center diff / dual brakes) useing the x-brace chassis. But since I'm a dedicated electric nut, this was only daydreaming.

actually dafni...after i get the revo conversion done i was thinking about using a center diff in the center..

still have not worked everything out yet.. i might even just trash the revo tranny and use a center diff 2-speed setup..

thanx for the interest.....and Mike....I am sure I will need a great deal of help from u..

I have a 1930 9t crazy. Would you like me to give you a run time on the truck. It is on a stocker. I just have to wait for some parts to get up and going. The chassis it is on I only have 12 cells to work with it.

If the rtr vehicle is under 10 pounds, I would take the 1930 any day.
The truck i'm planning is a G2X conversion on a Revo using the carbon fiber plates (when available) and either a E-maxx or T-maxx tranny(I have an idea on that that i'll get to in a minute). For power i'm going to use the 2s2p scorpion packs. Untill i get the parts I can't weigh it, but i figure it will be between 8.5 and 9lbs

Coolhand. A video would be nice, but i was more interested in opinions between the two. If you post it let me know. I never pass up an opportunity to watch a cool brushless vid.

Hey Mike. The idea i have with the T-maxx tranny is to do something similar to the Gorrilla E-maxx tranny. If you could make a plate like the E-maxx 1 speed, you could use a FOC, a 1 speed and Starscreams T-maxx/E-maxx motor plate for the best low COG alternitive to a center diff

My concern with using the tmaxx tranny is the clearance for the dogbones. The output shafts on the tmaxx tranny are shallow and will most likely not have enough clearance. I believe Mike stated that the clearance for the emaxx tranny is close thats why the dog bones were required. If this is the case, the t-tranny won't be a viable solution. I like your thinking though. If you can figure out how to mount the tranny lower, your on to something ;)

Wouldn't it be low enough in a gorilla G2X? Are you talking about on the Revo stock chassis? I'm thinking G2X

It will work great in a standard GMAXX but you mentioned converting a Revo and thats a completely different story.

I actually mounted the tmaxx tranny on the Revo chassis. It wasn't pretty. It turned out to be a total hack job becuase I had to remove so much material to make the clearance.

Yeah, i tried an E-maxx tranny and got the same result. Don't the E/T-maxx trannies output shafts set at the same level?

starscream 11.16.2005 12:11 AM

Wiggedy Wiggedy Wack ;)

@crazyjr
The output shafts on the emaxx tranny set down several mm's lower than the tmaxx output shafts. That little bit of clearance makes all the difference.

Star how is your EVO doing ?. I just gought my exteneded EVO chassis back from roy at RD racing. He anodized it red and extended it by 1 inch.

starscream 11.16.2005 12:40 AM

My EVO is hangin in there. I haven't been racing much lately cuz my esc's were in for repair.

I am gearing up for the G2R chassis. I also have a Lehner 1950 and BK9920 in the wings.

Post up some pics of you truck when you get the ext chassis ready.

crazyjr 11.16.2005 12:44 AM

Your not using your regular motor? Why not?

rchippie 11.16.2005 12:49 AM

Star i will post some pics as soon as i can. I wont be able to see my buddy with the awsome camera for 2 weeks. So it will be a little while. Is that lehner motor HOT or SUPER HOT ?.

Hopefully this week or next week. Mike is finalizing the driveshaft length so everything will be available when he puts them on the site
