They all seem like a good choice. The Mega 22/45 and Neu 1515 btw are 69mm long. I think all the ones mentioned above will out perform a 9XL. My Mega 22/30/2 out performs my 7XL.

For the money the Medusa's are the real deal! Megas are nice motors but price is getting up there. I just ordered my second Neu yesterday, only reason was I couldn't find a 36-60-2000v2 in stock, so I got a 1512/2.5D that I was able to find in stock.

2 Neu
3 Mega

I found it amazing that my 36-50-3300 runs cooler than another guys 10XL in a maxx our ESC's were very close but he was hitting 160f(mid 70's ambient) while I hit my highest peak temp today @ only 130f(high 60's ambient). His truck is heavier but I think mine looks a bit faster. We are both running 5s A123's so run times are pretty close also.

mowed the lawn for the first time this year, wish my buddy would have showed up with his radar gun. I was definatly getting more speed today, I hit my ditch jump wide open and cleared the road by a good 15-20 feet. By far the best launch I've gotten so far, the hang time was long enough for me to start having second thoughts;) Ya, a 36-50 would never be enough for a monster truck LOL!

I like the 1600kv of these motors, for your 6sA123 pack... but I'm not familiar with running the emaxx or revo and the gearing they have. Maybe you need more rpm for them, but for a truggy these motors would be perfect for a good cool-running setup.

I was looking last night at gear ratios and I'm having some trouble due to the 1/8scale buggy diffs. even with the 2050kv 1512 I need to run a 24t pinion on 6sA123s to get the same predicted speed as my Medusa setup on 5s

I had to trim the fins on my medusa because of the 15t pinion I run, I probably wouldnt have needed to if I was running closer to stock sized gears. The 36-60 looks like the fins might be far enough back not to interfer with the 3905 tranny, cant say for sure. I cant comment at all on the finned Neu since I dont have one to look at, but i would guess it would depend on the spur and pinion you run.

Just for the details, i ask medusa research about there motors.

pretty identical to the neu concept if i was to be asked... only difference being that medusas seem to be mass-produced [rather than hand-wound], and thus significantly cheaper than neus...

Medusa's come with finned cans? Cool...he only ones I've seen are smooth can....

They have a heatsink bonded to them if you choose that option (extra 10 bucks or something; I opted for that because it was the only way I could get the 4800 motor, but I just emailed them and they made sure to remove it before it shipped since it wouldn't fit my tranny case with the heatsink on it). I haven't seen them actually built into the can though.

Oh yeah.... I have seen the add-on sinks... and they are only like $5.99? I was thinking Neu type can. :)

Those are the only ones that I've found with the heatsinks. The heatsink adds a decent amount of circumference too.

Not sure why there was no sound, it works for me. Anyone get no sound from it
