Well guys after a long wait my build is finally back on track. The motor was installed awhile back with four 90 degree steel brackets to hold it 100% secure onto the chassis. Im going to be running all 10awg wire. 10awg wire is already installed onto the motor output with deans connectors. I will be purchasing more 10awg for the harness to wire three 12v PB's toghther into one ESC. I will for sure be using an AstroFlight 204D "HV" brushed airplane ESC. It handles up to 60 volts input and has a 60a output. Ive talked to people on RC-Groups that run combos such as mine in their planes with similar motors minus the heavy batts and they say that the esc doesnt even get a tad bit warm so im confident it'll be fine. Plus its going to stay below 30 degrees here for the next 4-5 months or so. The rollcage was reinstalled and I cut out the 2nd servo mount in the front for room for the ESC. The batteries will be placed one behind the motor and 2 on the left side of the chassis towards the rear. Total weight will be around 32.8lbs. Ill post pics of it here in a few minutes.

You've got an awesome build going. I've wanted a 1/5th for a long time but never had the money to get even a gas one (not to mention go electric with it). Hopefully you can get it running soon, it's looking good so far. |
Thanks guys, Hey U.S. is your idea related to a spring loaded chain tensioner like this bike shifter.

That is a very securely mounted motor you have there. It's missing a wire, though; can you run a motor with only two wires?????????????
Haha, looking good man! |
