Hi there I noticed that you're using a custom chassis what are the dimensions? I'd love to do a similar project. So will Road Rage tires fit in the wheel wells of the body? By the way i also noticed you live in the Bay Area are you part of the M2 Hobbies forum yet?

Thanks

Sorry guys haven't been here in a while, I got an email notice from here, so I'm back now. with the car breaking so much I got a little distracted and built my Berg Crawler.
If you Use the monster size Road rage tires you would need to cut the wheel wells just a bit, i think those tires are like 6", should be some really great traction though.
Tell me about " M2 " I am not familiar with it.

Yea, they seem to be made into many different things including crawlers.

YEa I know they are very hard to find. They are Losi quick change adaptors part number LOSA2996 .

I also built an Off-roader, stretched out my RC10 GT (gas) since the engine was toast I made a electric engine mount and swapped in the Mamba MOnster and Castle motor, it's a blast to drive.

Back to the 1/5, I have the car back on the bench now and put the ESC back in. I bought a double set screw Pinion gear and added loctite, seems to be doing the trick. I need to replace the Front and Rear Bulkheads as they have endure damage from crashing.
SHould be able to get to that next week. Looking forward to getting it back on the road.
I am in Campbell and not far from the RAMS club Fremont College 1/5 races near Great America

I found the Black wheels on Ebay, used $50. but they don't have enough grip for this 6S so I am thinking of grooving them. I contacted FG supply they recommended these

Hope that helps
Oh the chassis dimensions : well it has many angles but the widest width is 7", total length 27" , between the arms under the diffs is 2 1/8", wheel base 20.5"

Anything else ?

littleazn248 11.13.2009 08:18 PM

sweet im so glad you could reply! Does your chassis have alot of flex? That info helps alot. As far as M2 hobbies i have been to much of the club meet as im super booked all the time. But they meet in South San Francisco. Im not sure if your familiar with Nor Cal hobbies but they meet there too. heres their site http://www.m2hobbies.com/board/index.php.

SpeedAssault 11.13.2009 09:45 PM

Cool I will check it out.

My chassis has no Flex because of the two square bars down the middle.

Thats good because i might go with a twin setup. Since I hear that the ezruns aren't as powerful as the MMM i figure why not use two ezruns:mdr:. However, it sounds like your breaking alot of parts; so are you breaking the center drive? Im don't quite remember reading but did you try just using the plastic slider shafts instead?
By the way how did you fit on revo arms? Also i remember hearing you said the car was to wide standard. So did you have to drill deeper so the ball joints could go in further?

Thanks

Dont follow you on the twin setup..?
I have broken a tooth off the center spur gear, mod 1 51 tooth steel.
I upgraded to Losi center diff but locked it up with a steel block inside and a pin.. and upgraded to LOsi center diffs. Front with 5000wt, rear is locked. I used Losi gears but I cut down the stock traxxas ones, it's in the thread somewhere. the modified output shafts is what the revo drive axles connect to, they are doing great.
Page 2 http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/show...6&postcount=57
The revo arms fit with minor trimming of the emaxx bulkheads, but after a collision the bulkheads broke so I am putting the strong grey ones and Ditching the titanium screws and using 5/40 steel screws.

I cut down the arms by 1/4" and re-machined the inside of the 1/5 wheel square hub by 1/4". pics in thread

Pulled out the stock emaxx Bulkheads to replace with the grey ones and found my axle shafts are breaking apart

Whats the best CVD shafts ? hopefully without breaking the bank

Looking to get this back on the road

Thanks

Traxxas CVDs. Their only flaw IMHO is when the suspension is raised up more than ~3/4 they fall out of the cup after landing jumps and such making for a bent shaft. You won't have this problem.

SpeedAssault 11.26.2009 11:37 PM

Kcaz25 , thank you. I may do that. how are the RDlogics shafts ?http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

In thinking about the break, it is just my right rear and now that my ESc is more dialed in and I have learned not to gun the trottle I may be ok with the stock ones.
But I need to know what other options I have.

Have you used them on 6s lipo ?

I once gunned it from a dead stop and the 12lb car jump 1 foot straight up and landed on passenger door, I dont think it moved forward much

these are Awesome looking shafts but I cannot afford them now.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Semi Pro 11.27.2009 02:46 AM

my advise is buy MIP, i tried everything in my maxx and nothing ever survived but the mip shafts lasted the longest

Thanks , Pro

I would like to try the sliperential, but I also heard about problems with the front end..? I forget the details. I started with this setup because I wante to see if I could get some Drift action from it.

You think I could still get some Drift action from it with a Sliper ential ?

PS Very nice list of cars you have there.

Next change is making rocker arms and going horizontal shocks like F-1 cars or like the revo

Thinking of buying this and Transforming it http://rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24848

littleazn248 12.08.2009 10:44 PM

yea i am but slowly both budget and time issues mostly time issues i got finals next week and i also got a pretty loaded schedule next semester. But yes most definitely im working on one. Im working on a budget though. So far i still got to get the wheels, my FG racing Audi body, get the chassis cut out. But for now its just an emaxx

Right Awn ! Start a build thread be sure to post pics

I recommend looking into Losi parts, definetly the drivetrain, although if your going to go 3s or 4s lipo you could stick with the emaxx 2spd tranny
