Great thread, I am gonna start gathering parts to convert my RTR 2.0 to E
How do you do on the track compared to the nitro's? Do you feel you have an advantage or disadvantage? where do you accel and where do you feel a nitro may have the upper hand. also what kind of run times are you getting. Appreciate any info you'd be willing to share. |
Well, in my small pond that is my local track, I feel that myself and all the other E-Conversions have a robust advantage. Our track is very small and has lots of places where the super acceleration of electric is a big plus. The only place Nitro has an edge is in long races (more than 15 mins). I think my setups can go about 16 mins at race pace.

I also get about 16 mins of runtime w/ my MMM & 2200kv on ThunderPower 4s 5000mah 40c.

Dave, which do you prefer on the truggy, the Tekin or the Mamba? I can get them for the same pric. On every forum I read that the tekin is better, but I you use a MMM in your truggy instead of the tekin. Is there a reason for that? I'm proberly going to order a 8T this week with either of those systems:yipi:

Maybe I should just let Dave answer. |
Sorry for the delay in response, I didn't see the question till now...
I've got the RX8 in my buggy and the Castle in my truggy. While they are similar vehicles, I've always preferred the truggy as a vehicle to the buggy. I have a tendency to also believe the philosophy "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" so I've never run anything but my MMM/Neu combo in my Losi 8T 2.0. The buggy came with the Losi system and I upgraded to the Tekin. I do feel the Tekin is very precise but I also feel that the MMM/Neu has more kick to it. I think my setups work well for me, the buggy requires more of a delicate hand and the RX8 suits it well. The truggy can be pushed a little harder and I like the MMM/Neu in that. I think the good news is that both systems are excellent and you can't go wrong with either. |
Hello, I am very impressed with his truck.
Thanks to your comments I decided to put together a Losi too. It is a great truck. Only three servos burn longer and I saw some pieces should change direction. I can ask which parts of 8t 8t 1.0 to 2.0 placed him in the direction. We must change the whole set? Thank you for your help and I congratulate you for the note and the truck. Greetings from Argentina |
I'm not sure I follow what you are asking but for me, when I started burning up servo's I just replaced all the steering plastic with 1.0 plastic. It should be something you can find easily on the Losi web site in the exploded view of the 1.0 truggy. Oddly I was thinking of going back to (all new) 2.0 plastic. I'm quite sure mine was an early mold issue which has since been resolved. My Buggy has all 2.0 plastic and it works just fine.

Dave, would you mind going through your setup for us here. |
Thanks for responding.
I'll ask new sets of plastic 2.0. and place a new servo. I love the 8T 2.0. But I want to build another and truggy. a z01t or mbx6t. Excuse my English. Greetings. |
