I run the 1515 1/y on 4s and 5s. 3s on one side, and 2s on the other. 5s isn't totally crazy, but definitly faster and more power. It runs a tad warmer as stated above too, so I would not reccommend driving it in 100* weather.
Will Mike's Diff adaptors work with the UE 1/8th diffs? |
Im not 100% certain, but assuming the output spider gears attach to the output shafts the same way as the HB diffs, they should do. The bearings are all the same size, so they should be okay in theory.

Finally found the time to finish!! Initial run was great the extended chassis handles totally different the the OE one. The UE shocks felt great. I'll give it a good shake down tomorrow after a full charge.

Can you really do that?
I didn't know you can mis-match lipo's like that. If that's true, it opens up lots of new voltage possibilities.

Finally ran it today and...
The new buggy diffs with 52/17 gearing slowed me down a little from ~38mph to 35mph. Also with the extra weight and extended chassis no wheelies. Looks like I won't need the wheelie bar. I am going to try 52/20 gearing which should get me close to 40 mph. Oh, and I forgot about getting a body to fit the extended chassis. guess that is next. |
Just got back form bashing!!
The extended chassis handles like a dream. It is much more stable. I never landed on my lid going over jumps today. (Thanks DickyT) The UE shocks were great only bottoming out on huge air. Almost never rolled it in powerslides and donuts. (Thanks RC Shocker and DiscusDave). As far as temps were, I did not even bother taking them. After 30+ minutes of bashing everything was slightly warm to touch. Ambient temp was in the mid 50s. I did have a problem though under full throttle the esc shut down. If I applied throttle slowly I could reach top speed, but when applied quickly the truck would shut down. Does anyone have any ideas? I have the MGM160/18 on all default settings except for Lipo "cuttoff" instead of "slow down". Could it be cutting off under maximum draw? Is the problem with my batts? |
My only guess for the power cutting off would be the voltage drop of the batteries under hard acceleration triggering the LVC.
Glad you're enjoying the truck. Get some video at your next bash!! |
Yep, like jnev said. You have the MGM set to hard cutoff (where it stops sending power to the motor), and you should try it set for soft cutoff (what MGM calls "reduce RPM" or something like that).

Next question for the group.
I am currently running 4s. Should I buy a 5s pack or another 2s TrackPower pack? What would you do? |
5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, 5s, .:intello:
Did i say 5s????????:oh: |
If your not getting enough speed running the 4s that setup runs very nice on 5s.
Fitting a 5s with the dual motor mount may be tight or possibly require some trimming. I have not tried fitting my 5s on the Emaxx but the way the Trakpowers sit under the motor mount it does not look like it would fit. |
What 5s battery would you all suggest?
BTW, Thanks changing the cutoff to reduce RPM stopped the problem. |
Flightpower EVO25, 4350mAh, 5s, this will be my next pack for my revo.
|
Before I got the 5s batt I thought I would check top speed.
weight 10.5 pounds Neu 1515 1y two 2s1p Trakpower lipo 3906 single speed conversion Revo Talons 1/8 scale buggy diffs 51/20 gearing Highest speed 33.2 mph The same setup as above but with my old 3906 diffs (yes I put them back in to see how much the 1/8s slowed me down) Highest speed 38.4 mph The very first run I did was my original setup, but instead of the Talons I had the OE Chevrons and my highest speed was 31.4 mph. Next 5s power.......... |
