Holy HUGE wires!! LOL
I just got 2 new Lipos in. I splurged a little and got a new Enerland 30C 4500mah 5s pack for the new truggy. It came in and all I can say is these wires are absolutely the fattest I have ever seen on a pack. :gasp: They look like the wires that go from my car battery to the starter. lol
Take a look at this. The other pack in the picture has nice thick 12 gauge wire like any good high amp pack should have. I'm still looking at these wires trying to figure out how I'm gonna solder the deans plug on.:lol:I dont even think I have wire shrink wrap thats fat enough to fit over them. At least I will know the wire isnt my bottle neck in the system, I wonder how much weight these will add. :mdr: http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...z/CIMG2990.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...z/CIMG2989.jpg |
I wouldn't waste my time on deans , I have 5.5mm and 6.0mm cons on everything

Yea I hear you.... But everything I own already has deans for power. I use the 5.5mm bullets for the motor/esc connectors.
No worries though. I got the deans on there. It took a little doing to get it to work, but I got it. It actually looks kinda fnny. Those huge wires connected to the 12gauge wire on the controller. |
That's to compensate their lack of quality.. They hold their voltage bad under load. While you expect them to hold their voltage better on a 100A load, they are a 0.2V lower than their 25C cells.. (how odd is that)

From what i've seen from eagletree files; yes.
|
thats interesting. they're cheaper too, ill see if they are lighter.
EDIT: yes, they are slightly lighter than the 30c. |

I ran the pack this morining at the track and it performed fine. I didnt eagle tree it or anything, but it seemed about the same as the 4350 25c 5s packs I have. It was about the same price as the 4350 also so I guess I'm not gonna get updet about it. I'll have to trya and get some data on it once the weather starts to warm up. I mout the 4350 25c pack and the 4500 30C pack in the same truck/ same setup adn run them back to back and record it on eagle tree. That will tell me the real story. But... that will have to wait a month or so till the snow goes and the weather starts to turn. |
LOL, i didn't knew you where going to buy them..
I'm curious what these packs do in your case. can't you do a simple testrun with the eagletree with both packs being fully charged? |
Dude!!! is 12 degrees F outside right now... The only running time I get in the winter is at the indoor track and that isnt the greatest place to do voltage drop testing. Much better when I can take it to an open field and do some full throttle acceleration runs and really see how they perform.
I will do it once it warms up a little. I shouldnt be long now. Another month or so before spring starts to spring. :yipi: You can count on it. Now that you mentioned this I am very curious. If what you are asying is accurate, I will feel very cheated by Enerland. |

I do have got a file of the 4500 30C cells, if you are interested shoot me PM with your email Jeff. |
Those are huge, are they necessary?
|
The thicker the wire the more current it can handle.
