MGM16018 brake ??????????????

I've ran my MGM 16018 in a convert truggy for a long time with mechanical brake, but now, i've put it in my new e-revo, so i don not having choice to run it with motor brake, but yesterday night, i've setup my controler and try the truck, but the controller don't want to brake. When i hit the brake , it's like if the motor fall in neutral, it's like another "freewheel", but without any brake.

I've the 3.21 sw in the controller, i'am setup in car mode brake/forward, and the brake seting is set at .23ms if i remember well.

Is somebody could help me please??

Thank you!

David

try putting your brake on a harder setting parameter B option 6 or 7 , by sounds of it you have selected option 2 on parameter B ( light 1, 0.26sec)

lol.... I had one that actually would eccelerate for a few seconds when I hit the brake. Not every time, but just often enough to freak you out. :oh:

The MGM barakes are still suspect IMO. I wun mine in a savage with mechanical brakes. It takes a heavy load, but the rest of the features are not very refined.

Ya!, i think that i'll run mine like that and as soon as i'll find somes fund for a MMM, and when MMM will be available i'll order one.

Try setting 6 or 7 in the brake strength (farther to right), that's what it takes for me to get good brakes.

Try upgrading to 3.23 version software on controller; it is miles better for me now.

david lamontagn 07.25.2008 06:02 PM

OK i'll try to upgrade version, but don't know very much how to do.
I'll gona make a little visit on the MGM web site.

You need a higher brake setting. My elst will flip over on its roof if you hit the brakes to hard.

david lamontagn 07.26.2008 12:03 AM

OK i just download the 3.23 version in my 16018, and all the download process was succesfully.
But when i connect my controller on the USBCOM+ by the CC_02 cable to go modify somes parameter in the controller, the version SW shown still the old one, the 3.21:oh:

WHY??????

david lamontagn 07.26.2008 12:30 AM

Just remake the completed download procedure and when i return on the controler device to program the controler, the version is always display 3.21.
And when i've download the 3.23, the po-up box tell "device update succesfully!!"

don't understand anything:neutral:

bdebde 07.26.2008 12:36 AM

When you do the update again, what does the "current version" show in the MGM flasher.

david lamontagn 07.26.2008 01:17 AM

3.23:eyes:

Did you try a "reset to defaults" in the software?

Brake Issue

I recently bought a new 16018 directly from MGM as I live in Europe (normally buy everything from RCM!), and had exactly the same issues with "no brake". I tried every brake setting, and had the latest software.

I was running with a Spektrum DX3.0, pro receiver, and Neu 15151y. I was able to adjust all other features via the pc, but not the brake!

In the end I simply adjusted the throttle end points out to their max 125% setting on the transmitter, and the brake started to work, job done!

I'll make some ride with the present seetting just to break-in my new batteries, and after that, i'll rester the controller to the defaults value and make an auto-tune.

david lamontagn 07.27.2008 12:27 AM

OK:yipi:give it a try today for the first time, and the brake is very good, i can flip the truck on it's lid just with a little hit on the brake.

This e-revo is super smooth, and it's the first time that i run a 6s setup, it's fantastic!!
The truck is quiet, the suspension is realy well tune, i realy like it.
