TCS 5T Flux kit - nice
Anyone seen this yet? Its pretty cool - wish I would have seen it before I did my XL conversion. However - I think it gave a few ideas for my roll cage.

I was looking at that a couple weeks ago. I think it just came out. It looks pretty nice, tho I'm not sure I'd trade away my XL as is for it. IDK, one of both would cool :)
The stock radio box def needs to go on it, but otherwise I like the kit. Some 24mm adapters would be cool as well. Ideally some wider arms would be nice to bring this to a better scale. I do wonder at what point the truck gets too big to be durable for the 1/8th Sav platform, tho I doubt that truck weighs all that much more. I too was looking at roll cage options. I haven't found anything too satisfactory. New era has some decent rool hoops, but the are only avail for the F or R half. They won't make a full length one. RC Innovations has one too, but more for the nitro, and as most, have bars on the side that would block the batt trays, and is a little fugly anyway. I was looking at making one of plastic rods, or possibly alu sheets, like TVPs, tied together with spacers. Looks like the do this on here and add some delrin reinforcements too. Either way, for $150, its not too bad of a kit. RCM should be work on some Flux gear. All these companies coming out w/ conversions and stretched TVPs, there could def be some things to bring out to compete/compliment. (*cough*, CD/slipdiff kits, 24mm adapters, other 1/5th conversions, etc. *cough*) |
Impressive to say the least, but if I want a 5T, i'll go buy a 5T.

Plus its not 4x4. HPI made a 4wd 1/5th scale, but they even made if off the savage. Not for US tho :( http://www.hpieurope.com/graphics/ki.../save5t01t.jpg http://www.hpieurope.com/graphics/ki...age-5T_05t.jpg |
I like this kit, since I have a spare 5b body laying around I may have to give it a try... Fastest way to get something 5th scale going!

Yeah, Mike should focus some more time on HPI products. His prime focus for so long was Traxxas mods (they prolly accounted for the majority of us).
I was trying to find that crawler place that makes custom trannies when I found this and got distracted. Anyone know what site it is that makes those? |

Yeah, you all know what an extra 2" does?!?!?! It is the difference between oohh and aahh....
Or so I have been told. Skanks. |

Yeah, Finn - those are what I was looking for - not that particular website, but it will do. I want to see if I can find one that will work in my LST conversion - but with higher M/T gearing. |

I like this kit, and am kind of kicking myself in the ass for not noticing it before I dumped money into my savage! Ah well, I like my savvy but this is something I will be considering. It would need some more power though, a 5T sized truck that can backflip? Sounds like a project in the making... |

With the std savage width setup and some low offset wheels the 5t body fits quite nicely.
