the beginning of my maxx..
well i got the first round of parts fo the emaxx! the flm chassis is sweet, im very impressed!! the price is right too... i got the grey bulks, full force braces, steel idler gear, integy input brace, a 208in/oz servo and a bec.
im up in the air on shock towers... i like the flm, but i kinda want to leave some flex there? its rollin on narrowed 1/2" offset 23mm dish wheels and bow ties.:024: ive started gathering the parts to convert to the 3.3 driveshafts and knuckles, etc, thatll happen soon. then ill make it faster!:030: still up in the air about shocks... the ofna shocks are easy for me, i have a couple sets layin around. but i kinda wanna try something different! the power strokes sure are sexy....:004: so what do ya think? http://www.mvbashers.org/gallery/dat...um/flm_086.jpg http://www.mvbashers.org/gallery/dat...um/flm_088.jpg http://www.mvbashers.org/gallery/dat...um/flm_057.jpg http://www.mvbashers.org/gallery/dat...um/flm_045.jpg heres one with the stock lid to show length... http://www.mvbashers.org/gallery/dat...um/flm_081.jpg |
Looking good!
BTW....the FLM towers are the best value out there...hands down! I like the UE Knucklehead the best but the FLM is a great choice too. |
Flm towers are best bang for the buck, UE knucklead are best though.
Looks good man! Very good start! |
Nice i have some FLM shock towers they rock they are strong and suprisingly light, plus dont forget the warrenty. Also if you a reacer you can mount a wing on to the FLM shock towers.
HERE are some pics. http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...P1030007-1.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o.../P10300036.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o.../P10300035.jpg |

ive had people tell me that when ya run aluminum bulks you end up shearing bolts off? thats why i chose to go with the grey plastic bulks... ill be pissed if i spend $140 then break off the bolts inside the bulk... the design of the maxx is lame in that dept... 4 bolts at the back edge of the bulk, then only the skid plate ties it all together? crappy....
so that being said, if i add the flm towers itll transmit all the force into the top of the bulks, causing it to break mounting the tabs off... i would think? so does everyone run aluminum bulks, and if so do you shrear off bolts? my truck is not gonna be a shelf queen, it will regularly be 15'+ in the air. as are all my rcs! i just burned up 4 packs... damn this thing is painfully slow... even on 14 cells. ive been doin nitro too long!! i know you guys think that electic is the fast way to go, but ive never once seen a brushless maxx that i thought was super fast? im takin your word for it!! ive seen em running with nitro and looking similar, but it wasnt a fast nitro! our revos do 50ish, buggies 40ish but brutally quick! i hope im not gonna be dissappointed.... im starting to worry!! someone please show me a brutally fast maxx!! i cant find any vid that really is truely impressive....:026: my goal is to be able to spank my mt buddies quietly, big block revos and maxxs. right now on 14 cells this thing is a childs toy... and i have $450 into it? did i say im a little worried? |
i should mention... im still running the stock motors and esc.
|
Well, you could upgrade the M3 bolts to M4.. but its not very necessary IMO
those FLM towers look like they can do the revo/jato shocks on the maxx.. |
