Mini LST2

That's right! Horizon hobby just started advertising the mini lst2! This truck is sweet! To get more information go to www.horizonhobby.com enter LOSB0217 into the search area to see the new improvements over the original. I am going to get one asap!

Comes with a 2.4g radio... that is awesome!

Mr.lst 03.15.2007 01:44 PM

yea I can't wait to get a few!

gixxer 03.15.2007 02:18 PM

it doesn't look like that much of an improvement to the actual truck. the controller should be better, but it looks basically the same as the mini lst. I only notice the shocks, body and tires. or am I missing something?

The new diffs look all metal, bevel gears and diff cup too, should be bullet proof, that was a problem with the first version, the plastic bevel gears were crap. That's a really big improvement, would make it my mini of choice for brushless definately,no messing around with miniscule ball diffs either. That and the 2.4GHz radio,on a RTR! how cool is that,i wonder if all the Losi RTRs will come with them soon.

Alloy shocks, and a cosmetic LST2 makeover seem to be the other changes,i like it.

The truck might not look different but there are improvements all around. Look at the diffs, radio, shocks, rims, tires, body, and the fact that they have made provisions for better slippers. The diffs and the radio alone make this a great buy over the original.

I don't like the fact that its still the ugliest radio ever designed...Adding DSM to a radio that isn't all that great isn't the smartest thing, but it is a big improvement. The main think is the DSM receiver...You can almost chunk the radio itself. It has no features whatso ever. Thats like a $80 reciever in a $225 truck... I wish they would do stuff like that to the Kyosho Mini Inferno ST...

gixxer 03.15.2007 05:41 PM

squee that part I will definetly agree with. the inferno st electronics arent even useable. I picked up the inferno st when i came out and ripped the electronics out before it even left the hobby shop. the electronics are still sitting there now.

squeeforever 03.15.2007 09:05 PM

The ARR has a descent little speedo, but its still a RX built in...I think the MLST2 has the best electronics I've ever seen in a mini.

BP-Revo 03.15.2007 09:41 PM

I wonder if that receiver can be used with Spektrum - being that Losi and Spektrum are both Horizon brands...I have a feeling they will.

If this is the case - we may be able to get 2.4ghz receivers for cheap :D

jnev 03.15.2007 09:55 PM

Definately a big improvement over the original. I think that it will be pretty popular.

That reciever looks to be IDENTICAL to the Spektrum recievers. The antenna comes out the same spot, light is the same spot, etc. I think the only difference is the case, which I like the clear case better. :)

I think its very nice looking. I would think of getting it but I would rather pay like 130 more dollers and drop the 1 from the 18 in the scale lmao.

Mr.lst 03.16.2007 03:09 AM

Squee have you looked at the controller for the mini lst there are adjustments and servo reverse capabilities, yea it does not have a lap counter and is not the sexiest controller out there, but it is a definate best buy in the 1/18th scale rtr packages. The improvements to the truck alone are worth the extra 30 bucks over the original. The controller is a huge bonus!

squeeforever 03.16.2007 04:28 PM

Yea, I know what options the controller has. I have one sitting next to me minus the DSM. I'm not a fan of it either, but just about every radio on earth has those features. The only feature that it has that isn't on most RTR radios is dual rate steering. Like I said, its a HUGE improvement, I just don't think its the smartest thing to put high tech stuff like DSM into a radio that doesn't even have EPA...
